Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, June 25, reveals that Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) warned prison for EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) if his Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) contact got out. Kate Roberts DiMera (Lauren Koslow) also voted to remove Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) as CEO, so here’s how all the DOOL drama played out.
At the DiMera mansion on Friday’s Days episode, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) admitted to Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) that Kate wouldn’t budge on giving them their vote.
Tony guessed Kate’s libido outweighed everything else, but Chad hinted that it wasn’t it. That led Tony to believe Chad had dirt on Kate, but Chad stayed tight-lipped about Kate’s fake blindness secret.
In EJ and Sami’s bedroom, they cuddled in bed as Sami read a news story on her tablet. It was all about the ouster and how EJ’s extended convalescence had dimmed his chances of leading DiMera Enterprises.
It also talked about what a surprisingly effective Jake was with his mechanic background.
EJ and Sami agreed that no one would remember a word if the vote went his way. After EJ revealed that his hidden ally was Kristen, he admitted he knew where she was.
Sami panicked a bit and argued that EJ could go to prison for aiding and abetting. EJ thought maybe Sami didn’t want him to win this, but she countered that she just wanted EJ to find another way to get the majority.
Sami claimed that she just got EJ back and couldn’t bear it if he was thrown behind bars. She got EJ to promise he wouldn’t involve Kristen and nearly got frisky before EJ had to dash off.
Meanwhile, Kate overheard Jake and Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) talking about how she was the swing vote that would work in Jake’s favor.
Kate made a comment about Jake getting cocky and wondered if it was wise to be conspiring with his ex. Gabi piped up that they weren’t conspiring, but she blew Jake a kiss since she assumed Kate couldn’t see it.
Kate pointed out that Gabi tried to convince her Jake was with her out of pity. She insisted if that were true, then she wouldn’t lift a finger to help Jake.
However, Jake was quick to assure Kate that he was with her because he wanted to be with her, not because he felt obligated.
After sending Gabi ahead of them to the board meeting, Jake let Kate know that he wouldn’t forget what she was doing for him and pulled her into an embrace.
At home on Friday’s Days episode, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) had a sizzling dream where Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) visited his office and flirted with him over Duke the teddy bear.
They kissed passionately before Rafe worked up startled and lied to Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) about being chased by a bear in his sleep.
Rafe mentioned his run-in with EJ in the town square and talked about how Lucas wasn’t pleased about Sami moving back in the DiMera mansion with her ex.
Ava seemed curious to learn steam was practically coming out of Lucas’ ears – like he was jealous of EJ and Sami.
At the Brady Pub, Nicole told Henry Horton (Jayna and Kinsley Fox) to distract Lucas by looking cute and happy in his stroller. She intended to use Henry as a distraction to pry information out of Lucas, so she quickly joined him at his table.
Nicole offered to let Lucas spend some extra time with Henry while she ran errands later, so he liked the sound of that.
Nicole admitted Henry always cheered her up when she was down, so Lucas wondered if she had a reason to be down lately. That led to Nicole opening up about Sami trying to prove she slept with Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer).
Nicole denied it and offered Lucas the bogus story, so he admitted Sami asked him to wear a wire and try to score a confession.
Nicole was surprised to hear Sami was taking it that far. She was also curious why Sami thought Lucas would help her, especially since they didn’t used to get along.
Lucas said something happened that caused him to get closer to Sami and blamed it on their time in the DiMera dungeon.
Nicole kept up her fishing expedition, so Lucas became suspicious over all the questions. She argued that she was just trying to figure out the reason for Sami’s obsession with this whole Xander thing, but Lucas didn’t buy that Nicole was leveling with him.
When Sami walked in, she gushed over Henry before Nicole brought up EJ being back in Salem.
Sami suggested she was thrilled to have her husband, especially since he just couldn’t stand to be away! She rubbed it in about Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) not coming home before Nicole took off.
Once Sami was alone with Lucas, he warned her to stop poking Nicole. Lucas revealed that Nicole could poke back and explained how she was grilling him about the nature of his relationship with Sami.
Although Sami was concerned, she felt Kristen was more of a threat and was relieved that she’d taken care of that this morning.
Nicole showed up at Rafe’s house and made a comment about Duke that was eerily similar to one she made in his dream. Rafe seemed a bit flustered before he excused himself to head to the police station.
Nicole was actually there to see Ava, so she explained her suspicions about Sami and Lucas – though she now thought she might be grasping at straws. “Maybe you’re not,” Ava replied.
In the DiMera living room, EJ lied about not being able to track Kristen down. The news disappointed Tony and Chad, but EJ argued that they wouldn’t give up. He told Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) portrait that they wouldn’t let him down.
At the board meeting, EJ shook Li Shin’s (Remington Hoffman) hand. Li thought EJ was looking very well, so EJ confirmed he was feeling very well, too. EJ took a moment to stoop down to Kate’s level and assure her that she would recover.
EJ thought Kate was a strong woman and added that Stefano always appreciated her contributions to the company.
No matter the outcome, EJ promised Kate would always have a place at DiMera Enterprises. Jake piped up that EJ wasn’t going to change Kate’s mind and called him “pal.”
Soon after, EJ insisted he was going to take the company to its greatest heights. He respected Jake and thought the work he’d done was admirable under the circumstances, but he added that Jake was always a placeholder.
Chad said he’d come to the decision to step back in as CEO. EJ agreed it was time for a change as the CEO vote got underway. After Li read the proxy votes, he got the votes from around the boardroom table.
It all came down to Kate, who voted to remove Jake as the CEO of DiMera Enterprises. Jake looked stunned while the other DiMera brothers looked absolutely delighted.
