This is daytime, so he could go into remission at any point in the plot. Alternatively, it could be that Y&R’s newest pairing, the Lockeness Monsters, are simply short-term players. But Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) could have staying power if Ashland dies, as he is expecting.

Victoria knew that Ashland found her to be highly appealing many months ago. That came during the time when she was one of three bidders for Cyaxares.
Ashland’s dinner invitation was rejected at the time, with Victoria’s reference of Tara’s inclusion in the offer nixing the proposal.
However, the subsequent ending of his marriage enabled what has become a friendship alliance.
Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) daughter cut her business teeth at the foot of her ruthless father. So, Victoria is incorporating knowledge of Ashland having awarded Cyaxares to her on a coin flip that Billy lost and then still selling the company to Victor.

Burgi’s character has proven to be more than a one-dimensional villain.
As fans have seen, Tara broke their marriage vows, Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) remains loved no matter Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) confirmed status, and now the terminal diagnosis reveals Ashland as a poor soul.
Victoria’s pitch to Ashland was accepted because Newman Enterprises is best suited to further his legacy. But will that deal hold through to completion based on all swirling circumstances that now include public knowledge of Ashland’s dire condition?
The desired answer to the above question is one of the reasons why viewers will continue watching Y&R.
