The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, July 29, teases that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will dump Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) while Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) confesses to Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez). Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will also spy on Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner), so let’s discuss all the action happening on Thursday’s Y&R episode.
At the Abbott mansion, Kyle will speculate that maybe Tara found out Sally was involved in Summer Newman (Hunter King) leaving for Italy.
Jack won’t think that’s true, but he’ll feel like Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) must view this as proof that Sally and Tara were in cahoots.
At The Grand Phoenix, Sally will argue that Summer’s having the time of her life in Italy. She’ll deny sending Summer there, but she’ll act like Phyllis should be thanking her if she was responsible.
When Phyllis drops hints about the security footage in the elevator, Sally will rant about her rival spying.
Suddenly, Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) will appear and insist she can’t wait any longer. She’ll want to be left out of the drama and will head for the door.
“Wow, how does that feel being thrown under the bus?” Phyllis will ask Sally.
At Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) penthouse, he’ll come home and find out Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) let Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) in earlier.
Devon will suggest having a key made for Amanda, so she’ll wonder if he’s really ready to level up like that.
After Devon insists he was just throwing the idea out there, he’ll suggest celebrating Amanda’s work on Sutton Ames’ (Jack Landron) case.
Amanda will want to focus on them instead, so Devon will be fine with that.
Once they make love, Amanda will reflect on how different her life could’ve been if Richard Nealon had raised her.
Devon will wonder if maybe Richard could’ve convinced Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey) to be involved in her daughters’ lives, but Amanda will doubt it. She’ll think it’s clear Naya is never going to stand up to Sutton.
Devon will point out that Naya has come a long way and will add that she brought Amanda into the family, even when she knew Sutton could be exposed.
Amanda will wonder if Devon thinks Naya wanted the truth to come out on some level.
Devon won’t be willing to go that far, but he’ll definitely see hope for Naya and Amanda’s relationship.
After they discuss Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) entering Amanda’s life, Amanda will praise Devon for always being so positive.
Amanda will also thank Devon for believing in her, but he’ll counter that it’s easy to do when you love someone.
“You know I do, right? I love you,” Devon will insist. Once Amanda gets past her surprise, she’ll tell Devon she loves him, too.
At Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) place, Ashland will offer updates on an appointment he made with a specialist in New York.
Ashland will plan to discuss his treatment options, but he’ll warn Victoria to keep her expectations in check.
Victoria will wonder if Ashland wants to talk to Harrison before they go. She’ll also question why Ashland feels it’s so important to speak with Harrison about his illness alone.
Victoria will point out that if Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) had big news like that, she’d want to at least be there when he shared it.
Ashland will feel like Victoria has a knack for getting through to him. He’ll wish they’d met sooner, but Victoria will contend that maybe younger versions of themselves wouldn’t have hit it off.
Ashland won’t be able to imagine any version of himself not falling head over heels. He’ll want Victoria to forget all that garbage about not getting in too deep and will argue that he was mostly protecting himself.
Ashland will suggest he didn’t want to be reminded of how little time he had left. Victoria will feel like it’s crucial for them to take advantage of every moment together.
Back with Tara, she’ll deal with Jack and Kyle’s grilling session. Tara will claim she got a confusing text, so she went to talk to Sally about it.
Tara will explain that Sally put it together that Phyllis sent the text from Sally’s phone.
Tara will act like Phyllis was being childish and will call this a waste of time. After Kyle shows Tara the video Phyllis sent, Tara will think that’s creepy.
Tara will ask if Phyllis is obsessed and will rant about how she felt roped into Phyllis’ pointless feud with Sally.
Tara will admit to flying off the handle, but she’ll assure Jack and Kyle that she did nothing to Summer. She’ll argue that it sounds like Phyllis won’t stop until she runs her out of town along with Harrison.
After Jack leaves to take care of this, Kyle will defend Phyllis somewhat since she’s overly protective of her daughter.
Once Ashland arrives, he’ll want to say goodbye to Harrison ahead of his trip.
Ashland will admit he’s decided to seek treatment and will be willing to let Tara be present when he tells Harrison about his illness.
Since Ashland won’t want to put it off any longer, Tara will head upstairs to get Harrison.
After Harrison appears, Ashland will talk about how he’s been feeling “yucky.” He’ll suggest that the best doctors will try to help him and will assure Harrison that he wants to spend as much time together as possible.
Back at The Grand Phoenix, Jack will show up with a bone to pick with Phyllis. He’ll point out that Tara’s tired of the constant antagonism and will admit he’s tired of it, too.
Phyllis will argue that she’s simply seeing red flags and collecting data. She’ll be certain Tara and Sally are behind Summer’s Italy departure.
Phyllis will be offended since Jack’s interrogating her instead of those scammers.
Phyllis will talk about Tara’s cushy new life with the Abbotts and won’t think Tara wants to lose all that. Jack will want hard facts and real proof instead of just insinuation.
However, Phyllis will lash out over Jack turning a blind eye and not giving her the benefit of the doubt. She’ll wonder if Jack’s even talked to Sally, so he’ll admit he’s going to.
When Phyllis warns Jack not to let Sally talk her way out of this, he’ll resent what she’s implying.
“Resent all you want!” Phyllis will fire back as Jack heads upstairs. Once Jack’s in Sally’s suite, she’ll immediately try to put the blame on Phyllis.
Jack will get a similar story to the one Tara told and will ask what the text said. After Sally says she never saw it, Jack will catch her in the lie with the security camera video.
Sally will argue that it was quick, so she didn’t actually read the words. She won’t think it really matters, but Jack will vehemently disagree.
“Yes, it matters! It matters that I can’t trust you to tell me the truth!” Jack will shout. He won’t be pleased when Sally keeps trying to keep his focus on Phyllis.
Sally will assure Jack that she’s not hiding anything, but he just won’t be able to build a relationship with someone he can’t completely trust.
Despite Sally’s best efforts to change Jack’s mind, he’ll feel like they’re always going to end up right back here – with Sally making excuses and Jack questioning his judgment.
Jack will insist he needs a lot more than that before he leaves a frustrated Sally alone with tears welling up.
After Phyllis spots Jack exiting, she’ll ask how his conversation with Sally went.
Jack will argue that it’s none of Phyllis’ business and will act like she’s enjoying this. He’ll point out that Phyllis is never going to change, so she’ll suggest he’s saying that like it’s a bad thing!
At Crimson Lights, Victoria and Kyle will cross paths. It’ll lead to a conversation that involves Tara, so Victoria will acknowledge that she’s good at keeping secrets.
Kyle’s reaction will leave Victoria worried she’s overstepped. She’ll apologize and ask if Kyle’s rekindling things with Tara, but he’ll clarify that they’re just coparenting and spending a lot of time together under the same roof.
After Victoria tells Kyle to be careful, she’ll return to Ashland at home. Ashland will mention that things went well with Harrison and Tara.
Ashland will be surprised that Kyle didn’t stick around to hover since Tara’s got him wrapped around her little finger. Victoria won’t be so sure about that.
Later, Kyle will listen as Tara tells Sally to relax over the phone.
Tara will think Sally just has to give Jack time, but Sally will worry it’s too late for that. She’ll fear she’s run out of chances and will feel like Tara is on thin ice, too.
Tara will insist everything seems fine on her end. As Kyle continues to listen, Tara will point out that she offered the same elevator explanation as Sally.
Tara will insist Sally handled it the best way she could and will thank her for the updates. Once Tara leaves the room, Kyle will step out from around the corner with an unsettled expression.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say there’s much more drama ahead for Sally and Tara, so stay tuned.
