General Hospital Spoilers: Thursday, August 5 Recap – Britt Surrenders – Joss & Cam Face Joey Novak - Stella’s Stroke

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, August 5, reveals that Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) learned she’s suffered a stroke and had a hint of memory loss as a result. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) also surrendered when it came to being a team player – all while Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Cameron Webber (William Lipton) faced dangerous Joey Novak (Patrick Zeller).

In a hospital room at GH, TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) pleaded with unconscious Stella to be OK. Next, Cameron showed up with Josslyn to check on Stella since he’d been the one to call 911 the night before.

Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) was grateful for Cam’s quick thinking, which allowed Stella to get the treatment she needed right away. Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) explained that Stella had a stroke, but it was the most common type and therefore the most treatable.

Cameron was glad Stella was going to recover, but he felt there was something Stella needed to know when she woke up. Cam said Stella had some papers with her inside an envelope, which she spilled her coffee on.

Curtis assured Cameron that whatever was in that envelope could be replaced – and Cam hoped that he could explain the situation to Stella after she woke up later.

Once Cameron and Josslyn were gone, Curtis worried that he might’ve caused Stella’s stroke by leaving her at Kelly’s when she was so stressed out.

Portia admitted there could be a correlation between stress and strokes, but she felt Curtis would have to share the blame since she blasted Stella pretty hard, too.

After Curtis filled Portia in on the details of Stella’s previous stroke, TJ rushed out to say that Stella’s vitals were improving. He thought Stella was waking up, so Portia went and did a quick exam on her newly alert patient.

Stella squeezed Portia’s fingers and recognized Curtis, TJ as well as Portia. She just wanted to know how she ended up in the hospital.

Stella was upset to learn she’d had another stroke and felt it was payback for all her meddling.

When asked about the envelope that had been thrown out, Stella said she couldn’t recall what was in it – though she thought it seemed important.

At the Metro Court, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) was proud of her work on Deception’s social media. She hinted at a raise, but Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) had another “wonderful” perk in mind.

Brook Lynn was thrilled to learn she’d have an assistant to boss around and was eager to interview potential candidates, but Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) walked over and revealed that she had the job.

This news obviously didn’t please Brook Lynn, who wondered if Gladys had any experience that qualified her to work for a marketing executive.

Gladys claimed she once sold cleaning products and was one of the top sellers, but Brook Lynn recognized the company name and called it a pyramid scheme.

Brook Lynn pointed out the CEO was in prison, but Gladys was done defending her new position and urged Brook Lynn to take it up with Sasha.

Sasha begged Brook Lynn to just deal with Gladys since she really needed to keep her occupied. Brook Lynn knew that Mike Corbin (Max Gail) cared about Gladys, so she relented – though she warned Sasha that she owed her.

Meanwhile, Gladys found a potential client near the Metro Court bar and infuriated her by commenting on how large her pores were.

Gladys defended the almost sale to Brook Lynn, who sweet-talked Gladys by suggesting she could get some tips since Gladys was a grandma pass for BLQ’s older sister.

Gladys suggested people were always surprised to learn she had a son Brando Corbin’s (Johnny Wactor) age. She asked if Brook Lynn had children, but Brook Lynn hesitated before replying.

That confused Gladys, but Brook Lynn acted like her little girl was practically a newborn and that she still forgot sometimes.

At the boxing gym, Brando thanked Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) for his advice and confirmed he’d be focusing on what was most important: Sasha and the baby.

Since Jason had healed nicely from his gunshot wound, Brando praised her work and left Jason pensive as he walked off.

After Brando met up with Sasha at the Metro Court, he was pleased to see how happy Gladys looked. Sasha was also excited for Brando to show her around his place.

Back at GH, Britt bickered with Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) about the budget before Britt revealed that the chief of staff job was Terry’s.

Britt intended to step down, but Terry pointed out that they’d have to share the title or neither one could have the position.

Terry apologized for how she acted before and eventually pushed Britt to go for a walk. She thought Britt should really think about this since the alternative would be someone who’d run GH as a cost-effective business instead of the institution they had in mind.

By the Metro Court pool, Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) speculated that maybe Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) engagement to Jason wasn’t a simple story of friendship turning to love after Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) died.

Jax worried about Carly getting deeper in mob trouble, but Carly assured him that she was keeping Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and the rest of her children safe.

Jax was willing to let this go as long as Josslyn’s safety was guaranteed. Soon after, Britt appeared and left Carly curious about where things stood.

Carly asked if Jax was still seeing Britt, but he argued that they never were. Carly admitted to feeling sorry for Britt, but Jax didn’t think Britt was looking for Carly’s pity.

After Jax approached Britt and found out about her co-chief of staff dilemma, he suggested half the workload would be a good thing.

Britt confessed she wasn’t much of a team player – except when she was on the run with Jason.

Jax and Britt weren’t sold on Carly’s explanation for how she wound up engaged to Jason, but Jax felt that’s how they operate – Carly explains and Jason goes along with it.

Jax was willing to compromise, so Britt took it as a hint that she should do the same.

When Britt returned to the hospital, she informed Terry that she’d share the chief of staff role and suggested telling Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) together.

At Kelly’s, Joey Novak approached Cameron and Josslyn. He introduced himself as an associate of Carly and Jason’s before bringing up Joss’ upcoming volleyball game.

Joey knew way too much information – including the fact that Josslyn’s PCU team would be playing the school she got rejected from.

Joey said he’d be right there in the stands cheering Josslyn on – right behind Jason and Carly. After Joey said something to indicate he knew Cameron was dating Josslyn, Cam pushed Joey to get out of their faces.

“Peace out, guys!” Joey exclaimed. He argued that he didn’t want to make any trouble – that he just wanted Josslyn to tell Jason and Carly that he’d see them in the stands.

Josslyn suggested she was sure Jason would be looking for Joey as she turned it into a veiled threat.

Once Joey was gone, Josslyn knew she needed to go fill her mom in. Cameron wanted to come along, but Joss felt this was family business and the less Cam knew, the better off he’d be.

Later, Cam got some fighting tips from Jason at the boxing gym. Jason could tell Cameron had a target in mind, so Cam explained the earlier Joey Novak situation.

Back at the Metro Court pool, Joss found Carly and revealed what had gone down with Joey.

As Jax listened in, he looked livid. Carly insisted on having a bodyguard for Josslyn at all times – and after Joss left, Jax approached Carly to ask what kind of danger she’d put their daughter in this time.
