The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will dig through Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) past, so he may discover that his phony dying scam has happened before. Maybe Ashland has another victim or two for Victor to speak with or at least research.
In Y&R’s August 13 episode, Victor confronts Ashland about the possibility that he could be faking his terminal illness. He suggests Ashland may be duping Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) to position himself to run his new empire following the merger.
Ashland denies it, but he admits there was a time when he was a young man that he might’ve considered a plot like that. We also know Victor will follow up on a clue during the week of August 16-20, so this could be it.
Victor might find himself wondering if Ashland has indeed pulled something like this before. Perhaps Ashland really did pretend to have a terminal illness in his younger days, so it’s worth looking into.
Ashland is the kind of guy who covers his tracks – but not well enough to fool Victor and his top-notch investigative team.
Ashland has plenty of resources to make an elaborate scheme like this possible – including fake oncologists, medical documents and more.
Ashland also has the power to pay off the right people and bury the story, so maybe that’s what he did. It may take a little work on Victor’s part to bring a familiar scheme to light.
Whatever the case, it’s possible that Ashland took a page out of his own playbook. When Ashland was younger, he might’ve pretended to be deathly ill and carried out a sneaky plan that was quite similar to this.
Will that be what Victor uncovers once he puts his team to work and scores incriminating information on Ashland’s history?
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Ashland and Victoria’s romance will take a serious hit down the road – and that may be due to Victor’s digging and the decision to expose the truth.
