Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that EJ DiMera (Dan Feurriegel) may deliver a fast marriage proposal to Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) and go overboard trying to get over Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney).
DOOL viewers know EJ enjoys getting under Rafe Hernandez’s (Galen Gering) skin, but his interest in Nicole isn’t really about Rafe. It isn’t really about Nicole either – at least not at this point in the story.
EJ clearly has a hole in his heart that he’s looking to fill. He sees the potential for a familiar mutual distraction since Nicole’s in pain over her own marriage ending.
EJ wants everyone to believe he’s Mr. Tough Guy and that he’s merely angry over Sami’s cheating. However, the truth is EJ was hurt as well – and that’s something Nicole actually understands.
In the October 5 episode, Nicole shared some sweet scenes with EJ where she seemed to get through to him.
Everyone else just yells right back when it comes to EJ and his outbursts, but Nicole took the time to listen and see the bigger issue under the surface.
Nicole warned EJ about trying too hard to control everything and pushed him to dial it down before he drove everybody away.
Nicole could tell that EJ’s sorrow over losing Sami was at the core of his problems.
It brought a moment of genuine connection that obviously touched EJ’s heart – the same heart he’s trying to heal in the aftermath of Sami’s betrayal.
It’s easy to see how EJ might fall hard for Nicole as the one person who “sees” the real him right now.
Since EJ’s the kind of guy who takes charge and goes after what he wants, a speedy marriage proposal is certainly an option to consider.
That’s especially true since EJ himself offered a hint about one. When Rafe and Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) ran into EJ on his date with Nicole, Rafe pointed out Nciole and EJ already had two failed marriages.
EJ suggested the third time’s the charm, so maybe Days will build to a new marriage proposal down the road.
Even if EJ’s divorce from Sami isn’t finalized by then, he could still want to line up a new wife for himself. Days fans may see EJ cling to Nicole like a lifeline and move too fast with her as a result.
Nicole might end up in a situation where she has to be the voice of reason and reject EJ’s next marriage proposal instead of accepting it.
Regardless, Nicole and EJ’s relationship could come with some complicated DOOL curveballs.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say EJ will make some bold moves, so we’ll see if Nicole can settle him down.
