The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Friday, October 8, tease that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will force Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) to fly solo and will put the baby first. Meanwhile, Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) move will enrage Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and leave her with questions about his motives.
Y&R fans know Mariah freaked out over Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s minor bout of congestion. In fact, Mariah was so concerned that she decided to skip the wedding and stay close – just in case the baby needs her.
Of course, Tessa was probably hoping that Mariah would calm down and change her mind. She might even urge Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) to reassure Mariah, especially if Dominic’s health keeps improving.
However, it doesn’t look like Mariah’s going to budge on this. The idea of being all the way in Italy will be too much for her fragile emotional state, so Mariah will force Tessa to take the trip alone.
Tessa would probably skip it herself and stay behind for Mariah’s sake if she could, but she already agreed to sing at the wedding. Since Tessa can’t bail on her obligation, she’ll just have to hope Mariah will be OK until she gets back.
In Tuscany, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will make a choice regarding her future with Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi). After initially moving ahead with the nuptials for practical reasons, Victoria might decide she’s doing it for personal reasons, too.
That could be partly due to a pep talk from Victor – one that won’t go over well with Nikki. When Nikki finds out Victor encouraged Victoria to keep the wedding on track, she won’t be pleased. Nikki will think it’s obvious that Victoria is in pain and not in the right frame of mind to make this kind of commitment.
Nevertheless, Victor will feel like Ashland’s secrets are ancient history and shouldn’t get in the way of Victoria’s current happiness. Although Victor will insist this is about protecting Victoria’s bliss, Nikki will have to wonder if Victor’s more worried about the Newman-Locke merger deep down.
Finally, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will refuse to let Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) thwart his plans. Adam will do his best to keep Billy as far away from the ceremony as possible, but Billy will want to make sure Victoria knows the truth from Jesse Gaines (Jamison Jones) himself before she says her vows.
