General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, October 12, reveals that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) saved Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) job by convincing Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) to cancel her Crimson plot. Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) also revealed that she found Mike Corbin’s (Max Gail) watch, so let’s discuss how things played out.
At GH, Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) learned Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) and the baby were doing just fine following their checkup.
Sasha and Brando prepared to check out the delivery room as well as the nursery, but Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) crashed the party and made trouble.
Now that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was back, Gladys thought Brando could at least get a job at one of Sonny’s legitimate businesses.
Gladys felt like Brando should want better than the garage, but he liked working there and spoke privately to her about making his own way.
Brando tried to lay down the law with Gladys, but she continued to hover around Brando and Sasha during their tour.
Meanwhile, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) came home with a softer attitude toward Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) – only to find out Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) had him arrested!
The news upset Nikolas, who didn’t know how he was supposed to make things right with Spencer behind bars. Ava thought tough love was necessary and explained that she had to make sure Spencer wouldn’t mess with her again.
Ava was surprised when Nikolas understood that and embraced her, but he seemed nervous about his own criminal secrets coming back to bite him.
At Spring Ridge, Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) explained his shooter suspicions since Nikolas drove Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) out of town.
Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) hated that Shawn was even presenting Nikolas as an option, but she also knew better than to rule it out.
Shawn offered to back off the investigation, but Alexis knew Shawn had faced a terrible injustice. She didn’t want to stand in the way of the truth, even if it led to Nikolas as the person behind the hit.
At Crimson, Nina sat down for a visit with Phyllis. Phyllis talked about dropping off a box of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) stuff and meeting Carly.
After Phyllis handed over a pic of Nina and Sonny together, Nina insisted she had to forget about “Mike” since he wasn’t real.
However, Phyllis disagreed and was grateful “Mike” was there for Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton) in his final days.
Phyllis eventually pulled out the watch Sonny threw away since she found it down by the Riverwalk – the one that originally belonged to Mike Corbin.
Nina noted that at least Sonny chose her in that moment – though she knew she didn’t deserve it.
Phyllis admitted she’d been hesitant to give Sonny the watch out of fear it would bring back painful memories, but she handed it over to Nina.
Next, Sonny talked to Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) at the Metro Court bar. After Jax explained how he found Sonny in Nixon Falls, Sonny felt he owed him a debt.
Jax hoped that Sonny could still see the good he once saw in Nina and let go of his anger.
Sonny wound up in Nina’s office soon after, so Phyllis made herself scarce after reminding Sonny to remember the “Mike” in him.
As for Carly, Jason caught her leaving a message for Jax about Aurora Media and the future of Crimson.
Carly knew Jason was going to tell her not to let Nina play the victim, but Carly didn’t care and wanted Nina to lose something she loved.
Jason still didn’t think that was the right call and suggested there were more important matters to deal with.
Carly knew she needed to confess to Sonny about her marriage to Jason becoming real. She just worried it’d change things between the three of them, but Jason was hopeful about Sonny understanding.
Carly teared up over not knowing if the same Sonny came back to her, but Jason felt like all that mattered was Sonny was back. Jason was all about trying to put Nixon Falls in the rearview mirror.
Once Jax called back, he was open to hearing Carly’s idea. However, Carly suggested it was a bad one before disconnecting.
Carly was willing to forgo revenge for now and suggested maybe they could avoid a war – that is if Nina stayed away from Carly and her family!
General Hospital spoilers suggest Carly and Nina still have some showdowns ahead of them, so stay tuned.
