The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, December 17, teases that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will mark her territory when it comes to Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) while Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) accepts the fashion platform job and warns Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) about Sally’s type.
At the penthouse on Friday’s Y&R episode, Chelsea will gaze at a Tuscany wedding photo of Adam and Sally on her tablet. She’ll also call Chloe to let her know she’s ready to take the next step.
Chelsea will want to get up close and personal with Sally, so Chloe will be eager to get the ball rolling.
At Newman Media, Sally will act like she’s turned over a new leaf and not someone who’d be spying. Adam won’t seem convinced and will warn about the risks, but Sally will argue that the Abbotts are all bark and no bite.
After Adam says Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is different and has even resorted to violence before, Sally will suggest she’s flattered that Adam cares.
Adam will contend that it’s no different than any of his other employees, but Sally will remind Adam that they’ve kissed on multiple occasions. She’s a little different than the guys in IT!
Sally will decide it’s better for Adam to have plausible deniability and won’t confirm she’s the spy. She’ll be pleased that the info is helping and will soon dash off to meet Chelsea.
After Billy summons Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) for a surprise, she’ll come home and find it’s set up for a photoshoot.
Billy will note that Lily’s image is about to be synonymous with Chancellor Industries, so he’ll want to help her practice for interviews and give her a new headshot.
Once Billy playfully leads Lily through some questions, she’ll nail all of them with excellent answers. Billy will also take plenty of photos, which Lily will tease him about afterward since they’ll be so terrible.
When Lily asks if Billy’s going to tell Jack the truth about his plan to trick Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), Billy will decide it’s a good idea. Although Lily will be glad over that news, she’ll still seem pensive over Billy’s risky plan.
At Crimson Lights, Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will discuss Christmas plans with Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) before Chelsea walks in.
There’ll be some awkwardness as Chelsea admits it’s been tough coming back to Genoa City. Chelsea won’t be sure she’s going to stay past the holidays and will know several people would be happy if she left.
Sharon will assure Chelsea that she bears her no ill will – and Rey will point out that he already forgave Chelsea, too.
Chelsea will be grateful for the second chance before talk turns to Sally. She’ll admit she knows Sally more by her reputation and will note that their team has to have the right creative spark.
As Sally walks in with Chloe, Sharon will suggest Sally tends to stop sparks wherever she goes! After Chloe introduces Sally to Chelsea, Sally will extend her hand as Chelsea sizes her up.
Once Rey’s alone with Sharon, he’ll worry about Chelsea having a setback and will think working with Sally could lead to trouble.
On the patio, Chelsea will praise Sally for her wedding dress coup and the on-camera talent content plans. She’ll think the camera will love Sally’s “over-the-top energy,” but it’ll feel more like a subtle dig at her rival.
Chelsea won’t be certain she’s even going to stay in town, but Chloe will push her to be realistic since Adam won’t let her take Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) anywhere else.
After Chelsea warns she can’t make this decision based on hard sells and guilt trips, she’ll argue that she needs to know who she’s getting into bed with.
Chloe will act like Chelsea should be able to trust her of all people, but Chelsea will make it clear that Sally’s the one she’s worried about. She’ll want some honest answers and will run down the list of Sally’s transgressions.
Sally will feel like Chelsea went through considerable effort to get the goods on her, but Chelsea will wonder how Sally isn’t the biggest liability for any company – especially theirs.
However, Sally will admit to her mistakes and the constant struggle she’s faced. She’ll think Chelsea can relate due to her own past and will argue that she’s pouring the right energy into their fashion platform.
After Chelsea decides she’s impressed, Chloe will ask if she’s in or out. Back in Adam’s office, he’ll get the good news that Chelsea’s joining the team. Adam will think that’s fantastic since Chelsea is far and away the best designer he’s ever known.
Chelsea will have to pick Connor up from a Christmas party, but she’ll get Adam to agree to finish their earlier conversation later. She’ll look forward to seeing Adam tomorrow as he asks her to give Connor his love.
Sally will saunter over to Adam’s desk and plop herself down. She’ll want to talk to Adam about something, but it’ll be obvious she’s trying to paint a little picture for Chelsea.
Once Chloe leads Chelsea out, Adam will demand to know what Sally’s doing. Sally will claim she wanted to debrief Adam on her meeting with Chelsea and will be proud of herself for winning Chelsea over.
Adam will hope Sally didn’t stay behind to prove a point to Chelsea or “mark some imaginary territory.” Sally will reply with an “ouch,” but Adam will suggest he just doesn’t want to cause trouble since Chelsea’s been through enough.
After Sally hopes Adam continues to get info from his secret investigator, he’ll admit he hopes so, too.
Back at the penthouse, Chelsea will ask Chloe if Sally’s willing to take orders from her. She’ll note that Chloe sold her on a leadership team of two people and won’t be interested in a triad.
Chloe will assure Chelsea that Sally understands, but Chelsea will wonder what Chloe’s plan is to keep this woman in check!
Chloe will argue that Sally is grateful for the opportunity and knows she works for them. She’ll feel like Chelsea’s making a lot of assumptions about Sally after just meeting her.
Chelsea will counter that she knows the type and will think Sally’s out for number one. She’ll predict Sally already has a plan that most likely involves Adam and will wonder what sort of dynamic Chloe has noticed.
Chloe will claim that there’s no dynamic and that Sally knows Adam is her boss. She won’t think Sally’s going to overstep, so Chelsea will suggest that’s good since she wouldn’t want to see that boundary breached.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chelsea and Sally’s rivalry is just getting started, so stay tuned.
