The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, December 27, reveals that Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will panic over Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s meltdown while Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) defends lonely Spectra (Courtney Hope). Here’s what Y&R fans can expect in Monday’s exciting episode.
At Society, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will spot Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) with a stroller, so she’ll meet Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor and catch up with his mom.
Abby will vow to be Chelsea’s defender if anyone gives her a hard time now that she’s back in town.
Abby will also be impressed by the changes in Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and will know Chelsea has turned her life around, too.
She’ll wonder if there’s a chance for Chelsea and Adam to rebuild their relationship, so Chelsea will admit that’d be hard – though she’ll add that you never know.
Afterward, Chelsea will meet with Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) to discuss the fashion platform and Sally’s role there.
Chelsea will explain her latest run-in with Sally and how she was clearly trying to impress Adam during their brainstorming session.
If Chelsea’s going to work with Sally, she’ll insist she has to be the boss. Chelsea will warn Chloe that she wants it in her contract and will clearly be quite serious about this issue.
At Crimson Lights, Adam will have an awkward encounter with Chance and recall how Chance said they couldn’t be friends anymore.
Adam will feel like he deserved it at the time, but he’ll be hopeful about winning Chance’s trust back.
Chance will suggest Adam doesn’t owe him anything and will turn down Adam’s offer for a cup of coffee. However, Chance will end up changing his mind and embracing the holiday spirit by sitting down with Adam for a bit.
Adam will fish for info about Chance’s mission, but Chance won’t want to talk about that. He’ll just want to focus on getting to know his son.
Adam will reflect on the mistakes he made when missed out on time with Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) and will offer some guidance.
Adam will think Chance had to concentrate on the here and now rather than what he missed. He’ll feel like Chance and Dominic’s bond will come in the day-to-day stuff, but Chance will seem skeptical before he leaves.
On the patio, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) will give her notice to Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) on her decision to move out of the apartment upstairs.
Sharon will be delighted to learn it’s because Elena is moving in with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic).
Elena will express concern over the overlap between work and her private life. She’ll mention that Nate is her boss, but Sharon will argue that Elena shouldn’t make problems where there aren’t any.
Instead, Sharon will advise Elena to turn this home into a true respite from the hospital. She’ll also think Elena should work to make it their home together instead of it just being Nate’s place.
At Devon’s penthouse, Nate will check in since Devon was distracted at Christmas dinner. He’ll push Devon to open up about the Dominic situation, so Devon will admit he misses the baby. Devon will struggle over not having a more constant role in Dominic’s life.
Nate will contend that Devon should do something about that and will suggest making it official. Devon won’t know if it’s a good idea to insert himself into Chance and Abby’s lives legally right now.
Devon will worry about hindering their family’s chance to heal, but Nate will counter that Devon has developed a real attachment to Dominic.
Nate will point out that Devon didn’t expect to deliver the baby or bond with Dominic while Abby was gone. He’ll insist that Devon has earned the right to spend more time with Dominic, so he’ll give Devon something to think about.
At The Grand Phoenix, Sally will turn on the charm as she corners Tessa in the lobby. They’ll talk about meeting at the wedding in Tuscany, but Sally will note that she was Tessa’s fan long before that.
Sally will think back to when Tessa was on GC Buzz and took lines from Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) diary for a hit song. She’ll argue that Tessa was maligned for doing what an artist does and using inspiration to make something more meaningful.
Sally will feel a kinship with Tessa as she compares her dresses to Tessa’s songs. She’ll make a pitch about creating a wardrobe for Tessa’s tour before Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) interrupts and rudely gets rid of Sally.
Once Noah is alone with Tessa, he’ll warn her that Sally is trouble. Tessa will acknowledge what Sally did to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman-Abbott (Hunter King), but she’ll feel like Sally is lonely and has been ostracized.
Tessa will relate to Sally’s experience and will tell Noah that maybe they shouldn’t be so quick to judge.
After Noah shows the latest cover art design, Tessa will gush over it. She’ll talk about how she’ll always associate that art with Mariah since she was thinking of her girlfriend when Noah took the shot. Noah will seem a little wistful as he reflects on Tessa being in love.
When Tessa mentions her baby plans with Mariah, Noah will suggest he’s happy for them if it’s what they both want.
Tessa will confirm she’s ready to start a family with Mariah, so Noah will act supportive – though he’ll look rather down once he’s alone.
Once Tessa heads to Crimson Lights, Sharon will surprise her with an offer. She’ll wonder how Mariah and Tessa would feel about moving in the apartment upstairs.
After a quick call to Mariah, Tessa will confirm that they’ll take it. She’ll get choked up over all Sharon’s support as they share a warm embrace.
At Society, Abby will still be busy with work, so Chance will meet up with her and offer to take Dominic home for father-son bonding time.
Unfortunately, Chance will struggle once he’s back at the Chancellor mansion. He won’t be able to get Dominic to take his bottle, so the baby will start screaming his head off.
Devon will show up as Chance panics over not knowing what to do. After Devon suggests Dominic is probably just tired and fussy, he’ll take the baby in his arms and calm him down – just in time for a concerned Abby to witness the scene.
In Adam’s office, he’ll talk to Chelsea about her lake house painting gift. Chelsea will suggest she only wanted to say she missed that time and what it was like before Sharon. She’ll wonder if Adam ever misses it too, but they’ll be interrupted by Noah’s arrival.
After Noah leaves again, Chelsea will assure Adam that she wasn’t trying to pressure him with the painting. Adam will insist he doesn’t feel pressured, but he’ll make it clear that they can’t go back and have to move on.
Chelsea will reflect on it being the right call to move back to Genoa City. She’ll want to spend as much time as a family as possible while Connor is on holiday break. Outside the door, Sally will eavesdrop on Chelsea and Adam’s conversation.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam will have to make some tough choices in his love life down the road.
