Victor found a way to get past all Ashland’s lies and welcome him into the Newman clan.
Since Victoria was happier than Victor had ever seen her, that’s all that really mattered to him in the end. We’ve seen Victor go to great lengths to preserve that happiness, but it all hinges on one crucial thing.
Ashland is seemingly being the perfect doting husband right now, so Victor can’t really complain.
As long as Victoria and Ashland’s marriage is smooth sailing, there’s no reason for Victor to rock the boat either.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) has never been happy about Victor’s willingness to accept Ashland, but he’s trying to make peace with Ashland’s presence in the Newman fam.
That’s why Nick extended an olive branch to Ashland and tried to make some progress with Victoria in the process.
However, it turns out Nick was right to worry since Ashland is still keeping something under wraps.
At one point, Nick basically admitted that he wouldn’t be surprised if he found out Ashland was never sick. Maybe Nick got it right if Ashland has been faking his deadly illness this entire time.
If Ashland’s lie started out as a ploy to gain control of Newman Enterprises, there’s going to be trouble.
New spoilers for 2022 line up with that since Victor will be working overtime to protect his legacy and will call in reinforcements for help.
Ashland’s secret exposure may launch quite a scandal, but it’s his torn-apart relationship with Victoria that will no doubt rile Victor the most.
Victor made it clear that all the cover-up help and support he gave Ashland was conditional on treating Victoria right.
Once Ashland breaks Victoria’s heart, Victor may unleash revenge like even the “Locke-ness Monster” has never seen!
