General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Monday, January 3, tease that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will share a powerful moment while Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) says sorry to drunk Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) will also make a pact as a threat lingers in Port Charles.
GH won’t air a new episode on Friday, December 31, but they’ll pick up where they left off with a new show on Monday. With that in mind, let’s dive in and discuss some exciting storylines.
At The Savoy, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) will seek a fresh start and hope things are going to turn around for her in the new year.
Meanwhile, Mac Scorpio (John J. York) will battle concerns about Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) newfound freedom – and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) will definitely share them!
Mac will make a vow, so he may promise Laura that he’ll do whatever it takes to keep all their loved ones safe. That goes for all the threats that are still swirling, including Victor and comatose Peter August (Wes Ramsey).
“The person he wants to see is you,” Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) admits in Monday’s preview video.
This may tie in with Victor’s visit to GH, where Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) will suggest he certainly has a lot to celebrate. She’ll seem suspicious as Victor checks on a patient, so he may seek updates on Peter’s condition.
Peter was Victor’s ally initially, but he betrayed Victor in a big way – and that may not be something Victor’s willing to let slide.
Britt wouldn’t mind if Peter wound up dead in his hospital bed, but she might caution Victor about pulling anything that could land him back behind bars.
Of course, it’s possible Peter will wake up on Monday – emerging as a terrible threat to everyone’s happiness as 2022 begins! In that case, Austin may deliver a message about who newly awake Peter wants to see instead.
Regardless, Felicia and Anna will discuss their fears about the toll this threat is taking on Maxie.
Anna will assure Felicia that she’s in and will promise to do whatever it takes, so they may make a Peter protection pact.
Over with Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel), she’ll cross paths with Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn).
Alexis may feel like the whole teaching thing was a bust and decide she’d better lower her expectations when it comes to a new career.
However, Harmony will think they both know Alexis is more than that. She’ll push Alexis to keep fighting for a future that’ll make her truly happy, so Alexis will get the encouragement she needs.
On the footbridge, Drew will comfort Carly after she opens up about everything she’s dealing with.
Carly is going through a lot since Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is dead and now she has to share Sonny’s heart with Nina.
“Is it possible you blame yourself?” Drew asks Carly in Monday’s preview clip – and Carly will probably admit that’s true.
Whether Drew’s talking about Jason’s demise or her marriage turmoil, he’ll no doubt assure Carly that none of this is her fault.
As for Nina, she may get an earful from Sonny about the drama their secret caused. Sonny is drunk, but not so drunk that he can’t speak his mind.
“That pretty much says it all,” Nina says ruefully in Monday’s preview video.
Nina be sorry for the pain Sonny’s in, but he may admit the hardest part is still being in love with Nina on some level.
General Hospital spoilers say Nina and Sonny will have to navigate a tricky road, so stay tuned.
