General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) may pull a gun on Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and deliver an unhinged murder threat. Will Sonny take Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) “kill off” demand too far? Let’s look at some big clues and see where this hot plot might be headed next.
GH fans know Sonny is off his meds, so he’s spiraling out of control – and things are only going to get worse from here.
This isn’t the real Sonny since his bipolar disorder is dictating his actions. Sonny’s manic highs and lows are driving him to make decisions he wouldn’t normally make.
Keeping that in mind, there’s the potential for Sonny to turn against Nina and even become violent with her.
Sonny doesn’t feel like Nina is the problem, but everyone keeps drilling into him that she is.
At some point, Sonny may decide getting rid of Nina permanently is the only way to prove his love for Carly.
Sonny is fixated on getting back together with Carly as soon as possible, so his desperation can only spell trouble.
That brings us to something strange Carly said on the January 12 episode – something that might’ve been paving the way for a violent shocker down the road.
“As long as Nina’s alive, there’s no chance for our marriage,” Carly insisted.
When Sonny asked if that was a threat, Carly argued that Sonny needed to kill Nina off.
Carly then clarified that she just meant in Sonny’s heart, but the whole exchange seemed like a recipe for disaster.
It felt like the kind of dialogue that could repeat in Sonny’s off-lithium mind later and leave him ready to prove his love by literally killing Nina!
In the January 24 episode, Carly opened up about how she kept waiting for Sonny to want Nina to suffer the way their family suffered.
That might’ve been another hint about Sonny going after Nina – perhaps with a deadly weapon – once he reaches his lowest point.
Of course, we’re not saying Sonny will succeed, but it’s easy to imagine a dramatic confrontation where Sonny pulls a gun on Nina and threatens to pull the trigger.
This could leave Nina begging for her life and show her that something is seriously wrong with Sonny.
Will Nina have to talk Sonny out of killing her and get him the help he needs?
