Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, January 31, reveals that Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) had some bizarre mental issues – and Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) upset Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) by offering his ex-fiancée’s ring. Let’s talk about how all Monday’s Days drama played out.
On the island, Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) got fed up with Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) questions and made it clear that she was in charge here.
Kristen also ignored a phone call, which DOOL fans learned was one that Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) made to Steve Johnson’s (Stephen Nichols) phone.
While Kristen was out of the room, Abigail found Steve’s eyepatch on the floor.
Abigail did some rummaging until she eventually found Steve and Kayla Johnson’s (Mary Beth Evans) driver’s licenses.
In Sarah’s bedroom, she said she’d read so much her eyes were going to bleed. Sarah was tired of looking out the window at that “damn ocean” and was desperate to get back to the man that she loved.
As for Kristen, she checked on Sarah and got an excited hug from her. Sarah was clearly on good terms with Kristen, who insisted this was all for her protection.
However, Sarah said she was a grown woman and kept arguing that she had to get back to “him.”
Kristen wound up distracting Sarah with her favorite peach pie before taking Abigail a slice.
Abigail said Kristen could choke on her pie and wanted answers about Steve as well as Kayla.
Back with Sarah, she danced around the room and told “my love” that she’d be coming home to him soon.
Of course, we know Sarah was given the same drug that caused Abigail to go off her rocker again, so perhaps Sarah’s strange behavior is tied to that drug.
Next on Monday’s Days episode, Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) seemed uneasy as she talked to Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) about EJ DiMera’s (Dan Feuerriegel) prison sentence.
Roman thought EJ deserved to be behind bars and was confused after Kate dashed off to check on Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn).
At the DiMera mansion, Chad got confirmation from Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) that there was no emergency at the newspaper in Boston.
Chad realized something else must’ve happened to Abigail and tried to put the puzzle together with Kate soon after.
After Chad shared Abigail’s theory about Kristen’s Sarah scheme, Kate fully believed it. Chad and Kate discussed Gwen’s possible involvement before talk turned to Abigail’s safety.
Due to Abigail’s connection to Chad and the kids, Chad felt confident that Kristen wouldn’t do anything to hurt her.
Kate and Chad ultimately worked out their next move, which involved Kate calling the police while Chad headed for the airfield.
Across town, Gwen turned down Xander’s naked marriage proposal, so was discouraged as he got dressed.
Xander wondered what it would take to prove Gwen was the one he wanted, not Sarah.
After Xander got an idea, he pulled Sarah’s old engagement ring out and offered it to Gwen. When Gwen had a negative reaction, Xander realized he was being insensitive.
Xander offered to get Gwen another ring once he had the money, but she remained uneasy about the marriage in general.
Nevertheless, Xander convinced Gwen to accept his proposal in the end, so he pulled her into a warm embrace and kissed her passionately.
After Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) gave Craig Wesley (Kevin Spirtas) a nudge to come clean with Nancy Wesley (Nadia Bjorlin), Craig headed for the pub with his wife.
Roman wasn’t all that welcoming at first due to a long-held grudge, but he eventually warmed up to serving Craig and Nancy.
Once Roman brought their chowder, Nancy pushed Craig to share what was bothering him.
Craig admitted that he indeed cheated on Nancy, so she was furious and threw hot chowder on his crotch. Nancy said she hoped it melted Craig’s privates and rushed out to find Chloe.
In the town square, Chloe brought Brady up to speed on Craig’s boyfriend admission. Nancy showed up soon after and kept ranting about the other woman.
Chloe realized Craig hadn’t given Nancy the whole story yet, so she gave Craig another push as he walked over.
