The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) sleeping medication could bring back his alternate personality. Will Billy end up sleepwalking to target Adam Newman (Mark Grossman)?
Y&R fans will remember the days of gum-chewer Billy, who went as far as nearly running over Adam for revenge.
Billy’s alternate personality was capable of attempted murder and could be lying dormant within him somewhere.
That brings us to what may be a new storyline. At first, it seemed like Billy’s insomnia might simply be a setup for his podcast project.
However, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) remained concerned about Billy’s insomnia after that suggestion.
There have been multiple moments involving eerie music and an unsettling vibe.
Billy is convinced that walking away from revenge was the right call, but there are signs that he hasn’t truly walked away from it – not deep down.
Billy thinks he’ll be sleeping like a baby once his mind is occupied with this venture, but it’s doubtful that’ll be the case.
Like Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) mentioned, Billy seems to have some subconscious issues he needs to resolve.
Many of those issues involve Billy’s resentment of Adam – and it’s going to take more than one self-therapy session to get past them.
Billy decided to take the high road and drop all the vengeful scheming, but that’s just not who he is at his core.
Perhaps Billy’s alternate personality isn’t satisfied and is just waiting to come back out to play.
It’s strange that Y&R keeps bringing up Billy’s insomnia over and over.
Much of the February 10 episode was devoted to Billy’s voice recorder ramblings and trying to get to the bottom of his problems.
They appear to be going somewhere with this insomnia angle, so we have to wonder where.
If Billy’s insomnia persists, Lily will surely push him to get some help. That could lead to Billy taking sleeping medication and potentially suffering some side effects.
Maybe gum-chewer Billy could become sleeping-pill Billy and go after Adam once more.
After all, Adam is finding some happiness with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and hopes to gain the upper hand on Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) if all goes well.
Things are looking up for Adam, but will the most sinister part of Billy stand for that?
Billy’s alternate personality may seek the revenge that he’s still secretly craving – and he may do a heck of a lot more than set Adam up for a lawsuit!
Again, Billy’s alter is capable of truly dangerous behavior, so there’s the potential for major trouble.
Sally could also land in danger if she’s not careful, so it’ll be interesting to see where Billy’s insomnia story is headed next.
