General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) job offer trick will fail. It looks like Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) will protect his true identity and call out Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) over the sneaky move.
GH fans will recall how Curtis and Drew came up with a trap for Marshall.
The plan was to find out more about the person Marshall used to be before he came to Port Charles.
There was no trace of Marshall online at all, so Curtis agreed to let Drew take the lead on gathering more intel.
Drew suggested that they needed to put a job offer in Marshall’s path – one that was simply too irresistible to turn down.
Drew thought that could lead to a social security number or some other piece of information they could trace, even if the info wasn’t legit.
Since Marshall is all about music, Drew felt confident he could craft the perfect offer around that passion.
As a result, Drew will rely on some of the Quartermaines’ musical roots to come up with something he hopes Marshall can’t say no to.
Of course, we should point out Curtis has actually made progress in his relationship with Marshall.
That could leave Curtis wondering if he should listen to Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) and just let what Marshall’s told him be enough.
However, there’s always going to be an investigative side of Curtis.
There are questions that still need answers, so Curtis will apparently give Drew the green light to deliver this proposition.
Perhaps Curtis will tell himself that the job offer will ultimately benefit Marshall anyway.
Curtis might consider it a win-win since he could learn more about his dad’s past while giving Marshall a shot at a brighter future.
Unfortunately, Marshall wasn’t born yesterday and should see right through the game Curtis is playing.
During the week of February 28-March 4, Drew will have a tempting proposal for Marshall to consider.
Soon after, Marshall will track down Curtis and insist he knows what his son did.
It’s possible Marshall will appreciate Curtis helping him out, but it sounds more like he’ll rip into his son for trying to deceive him.
This could bring a major setback in their attempt to bond and spark even more conflict.
At best, Marshall may reject the idea of a job being handed to him as a favor.
At worst, Marshall may realize the real goal was to figure out more about his shady history.
Either way, Curtis will get busted and have to answer to Marshall for the plot he cooked up with Drew.
