The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, February 22, reveals that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will admit Keemo Nguyen (last played by Philip Moon) cut his dad out of his life, so a painful secret will be revealed. Here’s what Y&R viewers can look forward to.
At The Grand Phoenix, Jack will assure Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) that his former father-in-law is dead, so he won’t think the mystery has anything to do with him.
After talk turns to Keemo, Jack will claim his son emailed him about wanting to change his name to Nguyen to honor his mother’s family.
Phyllis will wonder if maybe Keemo is just having fun with Jack by sending these messages, but Jack will shut down that idea.
Jack will also admit he doesn’t have Keemo’s number and will share some unconvincing excuses for why.
Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will join Jack and Phyllis, so she’ll get updates on the mysterious texts.
That’ll lead to more Keemo questions until Jack finally blurts out that he hasn’t talked to Keemo in years.
Jack will insist that Keemo cut himself completely out of his dad’s life and refused any attempt to bridge the gap.
The last time Jack tried to communicate, Keemo warned his father not to try having a relationship with him and declared that he was done.
Traci will suggest that maybe Keemo had a change of heart and is reaching out through these texts, but Jack will highly doubt that.
Jack will insist he doesn’t want to reopen this wound before leaving in a hurry.
Afterward, Phyllis will tell Traci that if this is some cruel prank, she’ll hunt this person down and make their life miserable for the foreseeable future.
Traci will have no doubt that Phyllis could put her resources to good use, but she’ll think Phyllis should put the investigation on hold for now.
At Society, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will run into Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and open up about his dilemma.
Nate won’t be sure whether he wants to walk away from the hospital to accept Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) job offer, so Victor will advise Nate to focus on whether the new job would be rewarding.
Victor will also end up quizzing Nate about Ashland’s treatment, so Nate will recall that Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) had a similar line of questioning.
Nate will think Victor seems to be digging for something specific, but he’ll warn that he can’t help since it involves private medical info – not to mention Ashland is a friend.
Later, Jack will join Victor at the bar and ask if he can buy him another drink.
After Jack brings up the topic of regrets and fatherhood, he’ll wonder if Victor ever looks back and wonders if the mistakes of the past can be fixed.
Victor will acknowledge that he’s indeed made mistakes, but he’ll think regrets are only good if they spur you to new action.
Victor will think it’s how you handle it that counts, so Jack will appreciate the guidance.
Next, Jack will meet back up with Phyllis and reveal that he’s reached a decision.
Jack won’t be able to ignore this mystery, so he’ll want to find out what’s going on.
At the Chancellor mansion, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will be impressed with how Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) are coming together to put Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) first.
After Dominic starts crying, Abby and Devon will go upstairs to check on him.
Fortunately, they’ll reveal that Dominic just needed a diaper change and will get back to the Chinese takeout Abby ordered.
Nate will stop by to check on Dominic as well as Devon, who’ll insist he’s just a little sore.
Abby won’t think Devon should downplay his contribution and will be truly thankful that Devon was able to help Dom.
In a moment alone, Chance will insist that Devon was once again able to save Dominic when he couldn’t.
Devon will argue that the only reason he could was simple biology and won’t think that diminishes Chance’s role as a father at all.
When it’s time for fortune cookies, Chance will read the one in Abby’s cookie.
It’ll note that a dream Abby shares with others will come true, so that’ll bring some smiles because of Dominic.
The gang will try to get some sleep, but Devon, Amanda, Abby and Chance will all end up back downstairs with the baby monitor later.
They’ll all come together as a family unit for Dominic and hope for the best.
