In tonight’s Chicago Med episode, Crockett is involved in one of the oddest love triangles there is. He was interested in Dr. Pamela Blake and they’ve had a thing however she wasn’t the only one interested in him. Her daughter also has a thing for him. Crockett actually had to turn the younger woman down several times before it clicked.

What they had wasn’t going to work. It just wasn’t work for reasons she knew about and so Crockett was being a gentleman in the sense that he didn’t reveal his on and off thing with her mother. Or that it wasn’t just sex. Blake allowed herself to be vulnerable for once and she did so in front of him and not anyone else.

Where things left off, Blake asked him to come home with her. He did. He checked on her several times and he stayed the whole night. He even asked the next morning how she was feeling. She said she was doing better. She also said she would stay reading articles all day and he hadn’t known her long enough to detect that she was lying.

Crockett chose to instead return to work. He wasn’t there long before he got a patient. The guy has been diagnosed with epilepsy and he had one such seizure at work. But neither Crockett nor Dr. Hammer believe he that’s what caused the accident. They continued to dig deeper.

They wanted the patient to stay for twenty-four hours while they monitored him. The guy said his insurance wouldn’t cover it and he has to return to work. He has three kids and a wife out of work herself because of MS. The poor guy was explaining his situation when he suffered another seizure. The doctors were treating him as Drs. Scott and Archer learned about their own patient’s discovery.

A pregnant woman came in because she spilled boiling water on her stomach. It thankfully didn’t affect her baby because it was only skin deep, but the woman complained about having a cold for the past couple of weeks and so they ran several tests on her.

It came back that the woman has syphilis. She came in with her husband and so Scott has to find a way of telling her without telling the husband because there’s a chance the woman cheated on her husband. But she wasn’t the cheater. She said she’s only been with her husband and that she was tested when she first got pregnant.

She didn’t have syphilis then only she had it now. She must have gotten it from her husband. Scott had Sharon with him when he broke the news to the patient. Technically, it should have been Archer but Archer passed the buck. He didn’t want to be there once either wife or husband learned about the syphilis diagnosis.

Archer still heard about it, though. He heard the patient screaming at her husband and it made him glad that he was no longer involved. Scott however couldn’t walk away. He had to treat both wife and husband. He was giving the husband his shot when the man broke down about how sorry he was. Scott told him that he would be better served by focusing on what he can do for his wife and baby. Scott’s been there himself. Not the exact situation but he’s been there. He knows that there aren’t any excuses for cheating and it was out the cheater’s hands the moment the partner found out the truth.

It also didn’t help that the shock of everything sent the patient into labor. She was rushed to the delivery room and the husband stayed down in the ED. It was actually Sharon that acted as support for the new mother. Back in the ED, Crockett found himself in some trouble when he tested his patient’s seizure.

He pretended to give him medicine when in fact he gave him saline. It worked because it turns out the guy wasn’t epileptic. He was just going through a stressful time in his life and his mind found a way to bring the focus back to him. But the guy ticked off the moment he learned he wasn’t given real medicine. He demanded to speak with a supervisor.

Archer convinced him to get a second opinion from another doctor friend. He also talked to Crockett about Dr. Blake because it seems he was interested in Blake as well and so it came out that both men were going to be competing for her. Only they said “may the best man win”. Hammer hadn’t liked the way Crockett tricked the patient but she might not be there for long. She made up with her husband. Her husband told that Chief of the ED position at his own hospital was going to be open soon, so there’s chance their marriage can actually work. Hammer told Halstead this and he hadn’t reacted well at first.

It took him having to deal with a woman abusing her elderly stepmother for him to realize that not everything is black and white. He apologized for his first response to her news. He also said he was glad to be her friend.

But Crockett was kissing Blake when her daughter came in and saw them. And now the love triangle is out for everyone involved to see.

THE END!
