The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, February 28, teases that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will decide it’s time for an LA flight plan while Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) murder flops – at least for now. Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) will also go too far with her meeting contributions, so here’s what Y&R viewers can expect in Monday’s exciting episode.
For starters, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will run into some trouble as he tries recording his first podcast.
Billy will realize he’s not even recording initially – and then he’ll struggle to find the right things to say.
Billy will knock some stuff off the desk at one point and annoy himself with all his clichés.
Billy will eventually feel like he’s not digging deep enough and will end up taking a break.
Meanwhile, Lily will talk to Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) via video chat about some mysterious big idea and a meeting she has planned.
Jill will insist this could be a game-changer if Lily pulls it off and will offer her support.
After Billy joins Lily and admits his podcast problems, talk will turn to Lily’s new proposal.
Billy will get updates offscreen and insist it’s an epic move, but Lily will get the feeling that he’s holding back his concerns.
At the penthouse, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will respond to Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s (Melissa Ordway) text about how much better Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) is doing this morning.
Devon will mention getting the shared custody agreement back on track once the doctor clears Dominic to come over.
Devon will make sure Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) is good with that now that she’s starting a more demanding job, but Amanda will just be happy to be part of the picture.
Devon and Amanda will talk about the meeting Lily requested before Imani shows up to speak with her sister.
When Imani learns a meeting’s happening, she’ll want to attend, too.
Although Amanda will act like it’s not necessary and will seem a bit annoyed, she’ll relent on letting Imani come.
It won’t be long until Amanda, Imani and Devon all show up at Lily and Billy’s place.
That’s when Lily will pitch the idea of a merger. She’ll want to join Chancellor Industries with Hamilton-Winters to create Chancellor Winters, but Devon won’t be sure he can get on board.
Although Lily will remind Devon that Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) wanted them to work together, Imani will pipe up with questions about their vision for all this.
Imani will wonder if the companies would retain their autonomies or become one wholly combined entity.
Imani will ask how they would define their roles, so Billy will suggest that’s a good question.
Lily, on the other hand, will think they can work out the details later.
Imani will stand her ground and argue that these are critical issues that should be considered up front.
After Amanda gives Imani a gentle reminder to just listen, Devon will suggest starting with the joint podcast venture and seeing how that goes.
Devon will reflect on Hamilton-Winters being in a great place and will mention that he’s going to be taking on a bigger role in Dominic’s life moving forward.
Dom still has health issues as well, so Devon will suggest the timing is bad for such a big change.
Lily will assure Devon that it’s fine and will act like they can revisit this idea down the road, but she’ll clearly be disappointed.
In a moment alone, Lily will look at Neil’s photo and promise her dad that she’s not giving up.
Once Amanda returns home with Devon, she’ll admit the idea of a big cohesive family business sounds pretty wonderful to her.
Back with Billy, he’ll sit down with his podcast equipment again and talk about Lily’s genius plan to merge Chancellor with Hamilton-Winters.
Billy will feel like Lily is going to run a powerhouse family enterprise with her brother.
Billy will insist that’s Lily’s dream – a dream that Billy doesn’t factor into since he’s not family in any meaningful sense.
Billy will suggest he’s on the outside looking in and will think that’s the story of his life.
At the Abbott mansion, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will stop by and ask if Jack needs anything.
Jack will ask if Phyllis can bring his son back before apologizing for how that sounded, but Phyllis will totally understand.
Jack won’t know how to grieve Keemo Nguyen (last played by Philip Moon) since he never got to be a real father to him.
Jack will read Keemo’s last email to Phyllis and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), so they’ll hear how harsh Keemo was about cutting Jack out of his life.
Phyllis will feel like maybe the person sending the texts wanted him to find out about Keemo’s death in a cruel way.
Phyllis will point out all the Keemo connections and will know none of this is a coincidence.
Phyllis will consider the idea that there’s a mystery surrounding Keemo’s death.
Keemo’s obituary said he died of a heart attack, but Phyllis will suggest maybe there was more to the story – or that something went on in Keemo’s life that this person wanted Jack to know about.
Traci won’t get why this person wouldn’t just state their intentions. Traci will note that the messages make it seem like a treasure hunt when Jack’s son just died.
Jack will ultimately text the person back asking who they are and why they’re sending this information.
When Jack’s phone dings with another text, the person will insist he needs to get to Los Angeles for all the answers.
Phyllis will think Jack has to get to LA, but Traci will have a bad feeling about this being a scam.
Phyllis will worry about Jack getting hurt, but Jack will insist he has to follow up on this.
Jack will vow to go to Los Angeles and find the answers if they’re indeed out there.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Jack will face some other shocking revelations soon, so stay tuned!
