General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Jake Webber (Hudson West) may reveal that he’s been secretly meeting Grandpa Jeff Webber (last played by Richard Dean Anderson) and bonding with Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) estranged father behind her back.
GH fans know Jake is definitely keeping something big under wraps, but he swears up and down he’s not tormenting his mother.
Jake insisted he didn’t have a problem with Liz and Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) dating if Finn made her happy.
Jake has also grown sick and tired of all the arson accusations.
Jake’s adamant that he didn’t burn down Franco Baldwin’s (Roger Howarth) art studio, but Finn suspects there might be something else that Jake’s holding back.
Of course, viewers have heard quite a few Jeff Webber mentions in recent months – including a seemingly significant one in the March 15 episode.
Monica Quartermaine (Holly Kaplan) told Finn that she used to be married to Jeff.
Monica brought up the fact that Jeff didn’t have relationships with Liz and her boys, so that could be a huge hint that Jeff has actually been building one with Jake.
That would explain why Jake has been acting so weird and why he doesn’t want to get into the details of his true whereabouts.
It would also explain why Jake fears Liz will never forgive what he’s done.
Jake may worry that the rift runs too deep. He might think Liz will fume over him getting chummy with Jeff when her dad fell off the map for most of her life.
Jeff clearly hasn’t been much of a father to Liz at all, but maybe he wants to make things right and doesn’t know how to do that with Liz.
Perhaps Jeff thought he’d have better luck bonding with an impressionable teen like Jake – especially one who has been struggling in recent months and needed some family to cling to.
Jeff might even be hoping Jake can put in a good word for him at some point, but Jake probably would’ve kept this a secret forever if it were up to him.
Although Liz is sure to be taken aback if this is indeed Jake’s secret, she certainly wouldn’t declare it unforgivable.
Liz may just give Jake a lecture about honesty and how he can trust her with anything.
It’s crucial to keep the lines of communication open, especially as Jake continues his tumultuous teenage years.
However, Liz may have a bone to pick with Jeff and accuse him of manipulating her son.
Chances are good Liz will blast her father if Jeff has truly been sneaking around with Jake and stressing him out.
General Hospital spoilers say Liz, Jake and her entire family will have a lot more to work out soon enough.
