The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that we have to ask: Will Summer Newman (last played by Hunter King) return pregnant and give Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) a new grandbaby obsession?
Diane is already fixated on the idea of becoming part of Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) life again and hopefully doting on Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez).
However, Diane could become even more obsessed with her role as a grandma if Summer turns up pregnant.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) was hoping to lure Summer back to Genoa City along with Kyle and Harrison for his revelation.
Summer couldn’t get away from work, so Kyle intends to bring Harrison home on his own for what he thinks is a family visit.
Kyle’s in for the shock of his life once he finds out Diane has returned from the “dead.”
It’s only a matter of time before Summer gets that same huge news and joins the action.
A casting call went out for a new actress to play Summer Newman, so the show still has plans for the character.
They just have to find the right fit for the part – unless maybe they can work something out with Hunter King in the end.
Regardless, this delay in seeing Summer could work to Y&R’s advantage.
Pregnancy storylines take a long time to play out, so it’d be smart to give Summer a head start on baking a bun.
What if Summer returns pregnant and reveals it as a big surprise to her loved ones?
That’d give Diane some extra motivation to make amends with Kyle and become a real part of his family.
It’d also give Diane a reason to pester pregnant Summer and cause problems ahead of the birth.
Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) would become even more protective of her daughter than usual, so that’d be another path to drama.
Based on Jack and Phyllis’ updates, Summer has really embraced her role as a stepmother to Harrison.
Summer’s doing a great job in this motherly position, so it’s reasonable to think Summer might want to expand Kyle’s brood soon.
Could Summer reveal a pregnancy once she comes back to Genoa City?
