The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Ashland Strangled for Y&R Whodunit – Newmans in Trouble as Murder Investigation Begins?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) may be strangled to death for a whodunit, so the Newmans may be in trouble as a murder investigation begins. It looks like a murder mystery is still in the works, so here’s what we know so far.

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) feel like they’ve won the war, but a new war may be rapidly approaching.

Now that Victoria has faced a shocking car accident, it could give Ashland the opportunity to step up and play the hero.

Ashland’s actions will stun Victor and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) according to Y&R spoilers, but Victor will still order Ashland as far away from Genoa City as possible.

The problem is that Ashland may not listen, especially if he thinks he’s making progress with Victoria.

Of course, there’s an excellent reason why Ashland will be dragging his feet on leaving.

The show could’ve just let Ashland vanish, but he’ll be hanging around causing issues. That’ll leave all the Newmans on the suspect list when Ashland most likely turns up dead.

Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) should find himself in the hot seat since he’s repeatedly talked about how he wants to “get rid of Ashland.”

In fact, Nick was so angry that he said he could strangle Ashland on the April 15 episode, so that could serve as a huge clue about how Ashland will be murdered.

There’s a good chance Ashland will become a victim of strangulation before his dead body shows up somewhere.

That was certainly the kind of dialogue that felt like an ominous sign of what’s to come.

Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter’s (Cait Fairbanks) Friday the 13th wedding still seems like a great backdrop for a murder mystery kickoff – especially since they toyed with the idea of a murder mystery theme at one point.

Regardless, the Newman family will be under intense scrutiny if this indeed turns into a whodunit.

We mentioned Nick, but Adam should end up on the suspect list, too. The same goes for Victor, Nikki and even Victoria herself.

Ashland has driven all the Newmans over the edge, so the cops might believe that any of them could’ve snapped and sought vengeance.

Naturally, the show’s not going to let a main character go down for murdering Ashland.

In the end, it might be Jesse Gaines (Jamison Jones) who seeks revenge on Ashland and gets an extra dose of it by letting a Newman take the fall – at least until the truth comes out.

We should mention that Jamison Jones shared CDL’s previous speculation about Gaines’ deadly revenge on his Instagram story.

Jones might’ve been offering a hint about his comeback, so it’s worth keeping in mind.

Gaines obviously won’t be happy about Ashland’s $500 million deal, so he might end him once and for all.

If Gaines can try to take the Newmans down in the process, that’ll be even better in his book.

Once the murder mystery leaves all the Newmans and a few other Ashland enemies under fire, Gaines might be revealed as the true culprit.

Whatever the case, all the clues still add up to murder mystery that ultimately brings Ashland’s gruesome exit.
