The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, May 6, reveals that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will set a trap to test his mom while Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) interrupts Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Diane Jenkins’ (Susan Walters) faceoff.
First on Friday’s Y&R episode, Diane will toss and turn over a nightmare where she’s arrested for abandonment.
Kyle and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will refuse to believe Diane has changed, so she’ll be dragged away in handcuffs before waking up startled.
At the Abbott mansion, Kyle will battle second thoughts over his willingness to give Diane another chance.
Jack won’t condone Diane’s behavior or claim she’s changed, but he’ll be willing to admit she might’ve made the right choice leaving the way she did.
If Diane’s original plan had worked and she’d met back up with Kyle, Jack might never have seen him again.
After Jack reflects on how he was able to reconcile with Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams), he’ll feel like forgiving her was a gift and will want that for his son.
Kyle will get that there’s no simple answer and will wish he could just run a simulation of what the future holds.
After Kyle suggests they would put Diane to the Abbott test, it’ll give Jack an idea.
Once Kyle summons Diane via text, Jack will start rounding up the rest of the Abbotts for a family meeting.
Meanwhile, Diane will notice Kyle’s message and look thrilled.
At Newman Media, Adam will rant about Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) appointing Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) as her co-CEO to block him.
Sally will suggest Adam could strike out on his own and cut ties with the Newmans, but Adam will point out that he’s already tried.
Adam won’t like the idea of letting Victoria win by walking away, but Sally will think he deserves better than how they treat him. That said, Sally will offer her support no matter what.
After Adam and Sally show up at The Grand Phoenix, they’ll cross paths with Diane in the lobby.
Adam will welcome Diane to the resurrection club and insist that the first rule is that they don’t talk about it.
Once Adam rehashes how it looked like he was implicated in her death, Diane will talk about her many regrets – though she’ll point out that Adam was resourceful.
Adam will then mention that the second rule of resurrection club is that it’s best not to come back once you’ve escaped.
Sally will watch the encounter until she finally interrupts to introduce herself to Diane. Although Sally will claim they work together, Diane will gather that Sally and Adam do more than that since they were headed upstairs.
Adam will feel like Diane’s got some nerve coming back to town and staying in Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) hotel.
After Adam suggests that some things never change, Diane will make it clear that she’s indeed a changed woman.
All Diane will want is to reconnect with Kyle and get a second chance like Adam got.
Adam will admit he doesn’t have the same kind of beef with Diane as the rest of them, so he’ll guess he wishes her luck.
Once Sally and Adam make love in a suite, he’ll fill her in on his history of conspiring with Diane.
Adam will remain undecided on how to handle his family’s latest move, but Sally will insist she’s on this ride wherever it goes.
At Society, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will call Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) on having a run-in with Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) and immediately venting about it on a podcast.
Billy will argue that it was anonymous and insist he could’ve been talking about any manipulative mogul.
Lily won’t think Billy’s “Grinning Soul” persona will stop people from connecting the dots – especially people like Victoria or even Ashland himself.
Although Lily will worry about Billy losing his platform by being careless, Billy won’t seem concerned at all.
After Jack calls and tells Billy to drop everything for the family meeting, Billy will agree to come.
However, Billy will ultimately realize he’ll have to be late since he has a Chancellor Winters meeting to attend first.
At the Abbott mansion, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will be there along with Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland).
They’ll all flip out when they realize Diane will arrive soon.
Ashley won’t think Kyle should even consider forgiving Diane – and she’ll certainly hope Jack’s not buying into all this.
When Jack brings up Dina, Ashley will argue that their mother was a piece of work, but she was nothing like Diane.
Kyle will just want to see how Diane handles herself in front of people who have seen her at her worst.
That way, Kyle can see if Diane is sincere about the changes she’s made.
Traci and Abby will ultimately support Kyle in this, but Ashley will suggest Diane has no heart and that her soul is just a deep, dark abyss.
Ashley definitely won’t believe Diane has had some miraculous transformation.
Once Diane shows up, she’ll see everyone in the living room and realize she’s walked into an Abbott ambush.
“Welcome back, bitch,” Ashley will declare – and she’ll add that Diane looks pretty good for a dead person.
If Kyle is going to accept Diane back in his life, he’ll point out that it affects the entire family.
Diane will assure Kyle that she has no desire to cause problems for the Abbotts.
Even so, Kyle will want Diane to face all of them and help him decide if he accepts her claim of being a different person.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Diane will have to answer some tough questions, so stay tuned!
