The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) may move in the Abbott house, so Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) could explode over Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) decision.
Now that Phyllis and Jack’s relationship has crossed over into sizzling territory, it’s the perfect time to throw another obstacle in their path.
Of course, Phyllis recently reached her limit with Diane and decided to kick her out of The Grand Phoenix, which was a move Jack feared could backfire.
Jack knows that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) still needs time with his mom, even if Jack doesn’t like it.
We also have to consider Diane’s ultimate dream.
In Diane’s heart of hearts, she envisions being part of Abbott breakfasts in the dining room and clearly wants to carve out her spot in the family.
Phyllis was hoping that Diane would go back to Los Angeles, but that’s obviously not happening.
It’s also doubtful the show will have Diane living offscreen at the athletic club or some other random motel.
They need Diane to stay somewhere that’s going to give her airtime and keep her connected to Kyle as well as Jack.
With all that in mind, Phyllis’ decision to throw Diane out could have far worse consequences than she imagined.
Will this lead to Diane staying at the Abbott house? There’s a chance Diane might beg for it and get her wish – or maybe Kyle could even be the one to suggest it.
The goal could be to keep an eye on Diane, especially since Kyle needs an opportunity to get to know his mom again and observe her to see if she’s changed.
Plus, Diane might stand a better chance of behaving if she’s under Jack’s roof instead of scheming somewhere in private.
That might be something Jack takes into account and tries to sell Phyllis on if this Abbott mansion move-in becomes a reality.
Jack has promised to support Kyle no matter what when it comes to his choice regarding Diane.
If Kyle wants his mom to live at the Abbott house, then Jack will no doubt allow it.
That could leave Phyllis fuming and cause a romantic setback to work through with Jack, so we’ll offer updates as other Y&R news becomes available.
