General Hospital Spoilers: Thursday, July 14 Recap – Valentin Saves Laura from Sniper’s Shot – Esme’s Bartender Surprise

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, July 14, reveals that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) saved Laura Collins (Genie Francis) from a deadly sniper’s shot while Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) faced a bartender surprise.

At Portia Robinson’s (Brook Kerr) place, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) was nervous since it was the morning of her first day of trial.

Laura soon showed up to offer support and a letter that spoke about Trina’s character.

Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) was taking Scott Baldwin’s (Kin Shriner) place as Trina’s attorney since he was off helping Serena Baldwin (Carly Schroeder), who’d gotten arrested for protesting animal hunting out of the country.

Diane offered to ask for a continuance, but Trina didn’t want this hanging over her any longer.

Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) felt that Diane was the best since she’d gotten Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) off the hook for things he was actually guilty of!

However, Diane felt it was important to make Trina look calm and respectful.

The same went for Trina’s support system and even Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), who was instructed not to roll her eyes or show negative body language toward the prosecution.

Portia seemed concerned about Trina’s mental state and the toll this might take on her, but she tried to stay strong for her daughter.

Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) showed up to offer support as well and reminded Trina about the evidence she mentioned that could help clear her.

Trina acted like she overstated the significance and sent Ava to retrieve a necklace she’d forgotten at the gallery, which Ava had taken back to Wyndemere.

That left Trina alone to spill her alibi to Josslyn, who ranted about Spencer being a privileged tool when she found out about the cemetery encounter.

Although Spencer might get in trouble for breaking out of Spring Ridge, Josslyn felt that Trina had to come forward with this info.

As Joss insisted it could be a game-changer, Portia overheard and wondered what she was talking about.

Meanwhile, Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) told Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) that he was feeling lucky as they knocked on another door in their investigation.

The bartender who sold the phone to Esme was behind that door, so Curtis barged his way in with Marshall and acted like they wanted to purchase something.

However, the bartender eventually realized this was about Trina’s case, so he got rattled and didn’t want to get involved.

After Marshall and Curtis left, Curtis suggested the bartender would be spooked and might lead them in the right direction.

Soon after, Curtis and Marshall followed the bartender, who took got on the launch going to Wyndemere.

Curtis knew they’d be grabbed by guards if they did the same, but Ava appeared and seemed poised to help them.

Back with Valentin, he acted like the plan to poison Laura would’ve pointed straight at him since there were so many witnesses around.

Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) was still annoyed over Valentin’s failure and announced that he was taking matters into his own hands.

In an outdoor area of the Metro Court, Laura seemed suspicious as she spoke to Valentin later and was stuck on his weird bout with clumsiness.

Valentin brushed it off, but then he realized a sniper was aiming at Laura and shoved her over so that the guy couldn’t take the shot.

Laura was once again annoyed as she tried to figure out what was up with Valentin lately.

Afterward, Valentin called Victor to scold him over the sniper situation and hinted about another plan he’d just put in motion.

Over with Laura again, she got a phone call with some alarming news about her mother, Lesley Webber (Denise Alexander).

After Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) hinted to Esme about a surprise that would rock her world, he picked up the fake DNA results from GH.

That led to a tense encounter with Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse), so Spencer called attention to the kiss he witnessed in the park.

Rory wondered why Spencer cared who Trina was kissing, so things got heated on both sides.

Back with Esme, she received a text before Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) appeared.

Esme whined about Spencer probably using this surprise as an excuse to keep his distance, though she insisted she still loved him.

Nikolas highlighted the importance of keeping their secret hookup under wraps.

There was also talk about Nikolas hitting roadblocks when it came to reinstating Esme’s internship. Nevertheless, Nikolas had one more strategy to try and got a big hug from Esme in response.

Once the bartender eventually arrived at Wyndemere, Esme freaked over him showing up there, but he wanted to know why everyone was asking questions about her.

General Hospital spoilers say Esme will land in some other tight spots as Trina’s trial gets underway, so stay tuned.
