General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, July 26, reveals that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) couldn’t escape Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) ghost in their relationship while Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) made a police visit to Wyndemere.
At the Metro Court pool, Nina asked Aaron the bartender to fill in as a waiter since they were short-staffed, but he gave her an attitude and wasn’t happy about Carly losing her half of the hotel.
Sonny popped up to let Aaron know he needed to watch his mouth, but he hinted that perhaps the bartender had other problems under the surface.
Aaron admitted to drama with his parents and offered Nina an apology, so she promised he wasn’t fired.
In a moment alone, Sonny pointed out that he told Nina there would be fallout from the hotel sale.
After Sonny said he’d always give it to Nina straight, he warned this wasn’t going to work if she couldn’t deal with that.
Nina was fine with honesty, but she wasn’t on board with a verbally abusive relationship like Sonny and Carly had.
Plus, Nina needed to know Sonny had her back, even if he didn’t agree with her decisions.
After Nina worried about Carly always casting a shadow, she feared they couldn’t get away from it.
Sonny acknowledged that Carly would always be part of the picture as the mother of his children, so he suggested Nina had to decide if she could accept it.
At home, Carly talked to Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) about her recent run, so Joss figured out that Sonny complained to his ex about the video.
Although Carly wouldn’t defend Sonny’s actions, she agreed with him about Donna Corinthos (Ava Rose) and Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) needing their father.
Besides, Carly couldn’t move on from Sonny if she constantly had to worry about Josslyn going after him.
Josslyn explained how Sonny’s new muscle convinced her to delete the video, but she remained fed up.
In fact, Joss thought that maybe Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Carly were idiots for standing by Sonny all that time.
Carly thought it was best to coexist with Sonny and reassured Josslyn about her recent testimony in Trina’s case.
At the courthouse, off-duty Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse) apologized to Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) since he felt like he could’ve done a better job with his testimony.
Trina didn’t hold anything against Rory, who was ultimately scolded by the ADA for cavorting with the defendant.
Nearby, Trina worried about Rory getting in trouble because of their friendship, but Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) argued that Rory knew the risks.
Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) also questioned whether Rory and Trina were really just friends, but Trina said to ask her after the trial.
At GH, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) thanked Jordan for how she handled herself on the stand.
Jordan received Curtis’ updates on the Oz Haggerty (Max Faugno) situation and how Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) might be responsible for his attempted murder.
As for Portia, she had to deal with a patient emergency, so she called Taggert and got reassurance about him supporting Trina for the both of them in court.
At Wyndemere, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) insisted time was up and pushed Esme to clear Trina’s name.
Esme acted like she couldn’t without landing behind bars herself, but Spencer pushed her to figure it out and once again dangled the fake birth mom info.
Meanwhile, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) realized the divorce papers had arrived, but he surprised Ava by insisting the divorce was off.
Nik didn’t want to play games or tempt fate; all he cared about was being Ava’s husband.
Ava felt the same way about sticking to their marriage and was on board with destroying the papers in a symbolic way later.
Next, Nikolas found Esme and filled her in on her Spring Ridge internship being reinstated.
Esme hugged Nikolas and dashed off to call about her next shift, so Spencer wasn’t pleased over his father helping her.
However, Nikolas made a speech about how he wanted to make up for his mistakes and never hurt Spencer again.
After Nikolas cornered Esme alone, he expressed concern over her nearly blabbing their secret.
Esme acted like it was a moment of weakness and suggested it was a good thing it didn’t come to that.
Once Esme was gone, Jordan arrived at Nikolas’ door and had questions about a recent visitor.
While Spencer headed to the courtroom, Esme got on the phone with someone at Spring Ridge.
Although Esme knew she wasn’t on the schedule yet, she insisted it was urgent that she see Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) right away.
General Hospital spoilers say Ryan will no doubt guide Esme down a destructive path, so stay tuned!
