Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, August 2, reveals that Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) gave Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) an alibi while Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) revealed Stefan DiMera’s (Brandon Barash) body in the lab.
In Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) office on Tuesday’s DOOL episode, Sarah was put under hypnosis and remembered confronting Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) in prison.
From there, Sarah went back to her hotel suite and took a sleeping pill.
Although Sarah slept for a while, she woke up following a nightmare and decided to go see Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) right away.
Sarah then put on her raincoat, which Marlena remembered Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) mentioning in his version of events.
Just before Sarah left, Rex showed up at her door and checked on her following her island ordeal.
Rex also admitted he never stopped loving Sarah, but she confirmed she was back together with Xander before getting woozy.
Once Sarah came out of hypnosis, Marlena got Rex on the phone to verify his visit.
Rex hadn’t mentioned it out of embarrassment, but he assured Sarah that he put her back to bed and stayed with her while she slept until at least 10:00 p.m.
Sarah was ecstatic since that gave her an alibi and meant she didn’t kill Abigail that fateful night.
Meanwhile, Gwen showed up to see Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) in his hotel room and acted like she could help come up with a fake alibi for Sarah.
Gwen also suggested Bayview would be better than Statesville and thought Sarah could plead temporary insanity.
Xander wasn’t buying Gwen’s helpful act and argued that she used to be better at this sort of thing.
After Xander got Gwen to admit Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) helped her get out of prison, he wasn’t pleased at the thought of them both being free.
In Dr. Rolf’s secret lab on Tuesday’s Days episode, he tried to work his magic and bring Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) back to life.
Kristen pushed Dr. Rolf to use his untested extra strength formula, but even that didn’t work.
Although Jake was on a ventilator and had a heartbeat, there was no brain activity.
Dr. Rolf didn’t see any hope for Jake, so Kristen was bummed about not getting her brother back.
However, Dr. Rolf decided maybe Kristen would get her wish after all and pulled back the curtain to reveal Stefan, who was also on a ventilator and had some sort of glowing artificial heart device.
Back with Sarah, she gave Xander updates on her hypnosis and how Rex was giving her an alibi.
Xander was thrilled, but he also assumed Lucas lied about seeing Sarah at the mansion.
In Gwen’s motel room on Tuesday’s Days episode, she looked at a Sarah mask that she had stashed in her suitcase.
At home, Ava thought Jake had come back to her, but it was only a dream.
Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) showed up next wanting Ava to sign the marriage license so that she could make it look legit.
Ava demanded an executive position, a six-figure salary and a seat on the board, so Gabi complained about her lack of experience – not to mention Ava was a mob princess.
Nevertheless, Gabi ultimately agreed to work it all out and convinced Ava to sign the document.
Before Gabi left, she asked if Ava really loved Jake. Ava confirmed that she did, so Gabi was sorry for her loss.
Gabi admitted to really only being with Jake because he reminded her of his brother.
After Gabi called Stefan the love of her life, she suggested you only get one of those.
Meanwhile, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) got in touch with city hall and found out there was no record of Ava and Jake’s marriage.
That led EJ to Ava’s apartment, where he presented her with this suspicious information.
Ava acted like EJ hadn’t given it enough time to go through and urged him to call back later.
EJ decided to call right now instead and seemed smug over what he assumed the response would be.
