The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) may reclaim the CEO spot. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) might need his son’s help after the Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) cover-up explodes, so let’s talk about how this might play out.
First, we should acknowledge that Newman Enterprises must seem far from stable to the public.
Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) was CEO alone before becoming co-CEOs with Ashland.
Then, Adam had a brief temporary CEO run before Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) became Victoria’s co-CEO next.
Once Victoria settled on her plan to dupe Ashland out of $250 million, she resigned – leaving Adam to step up and get announced as Newman’s CEO.
Now Victoria and Nikki are back as co-CEOs, so this feels like a game of musical chairs at this point.
Of course, the truth about Ashland’s cancer scam is public knowledge now.
What happens once Victor’s staged car accident unravels? Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) could easily confess and throw the whole company into turmoil.
Victor, Nick and Victoria are all way too close to the Ashland chaos from the public’s perspective.
They could also be caught in this legal investigation, so that’s not going to be a good look for the company.
Nikki probably won’t feel comfortable sliding in that CEO spot, especially since her priority will be supporting her husband and children through the crisis ahead.
What Victor’s going to need is a Newman who’s on the outside of this Ashland drama.
Adam may find himself with another chance at the Newman throne – that is if he’s willing to take it.
Naturally, Adam would probably want to make some firmer demands this time around.
Perhaps Adam could push for an ironclad contract that won’t yank the throne away in a few weeks.
This can’t be another situation where Victoria is just going to snatch the CEO spot back.
Adam would want a real shot at proving he’s worthy of being in power. Victor might be willing to grant that if a full-blown scandal erupts.
Victoria is arguably Victor’s favorite child, but he can’t coddle her at the expense of his legacy.
If the future of Newman Enterprises is on the line, Victor may have to cave into Adam’s demands and do what’s best for all of them.
It’d be interesting to see how Adam’s reinstatement as CEO might affect his relationship with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).
Adam would be in charge, so he wouldn’t have to worry about Sally getting fired.
It could lead to Adam trying to reunite with Sally, but she’s likely been hurt too badly to just jump right back into their relationship!
Regardless, Adam could score another opportunity to take the Newman throne if he plays his cards right, so stay tuned.
