The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, August 11, reveals that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will have a tempting deal for Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) while some Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) murder charge questions cause drama.
At Crimson Lights, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will push Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) to drop the investigation and will insist he has no evidence the car accident was fake.
Victoria will wonder if Chance is going after Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) for obstruction of justice or if he thinks Nick killed Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) in cold blood and conspired with Victor to cover it up.
“You wouldn’t go so far as to charge Nick with murder, would you?” Victoria will ask – and Nick will also want to know the answer once he walks in.
Chance will admit he believes Nick and Victoria acted out of good faith when they called him. The detective will also believe Nick acted in self-defense, but he’ll be convinced there’s more to the story – especially considering these brazenly defiant reactions.
At Society, Adam will butter Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) up briefly and then get to his Ashland agenda. It’ll become obvious that Abby is on the outside too, so Adam will suggest they should share what they find out with each other.
After Abby calls Chance away, Victoria will reassure Nick about Chance doing the right thing and protecting them. Nick won’t be so sure and will think they’d better give Victor updates on this Chance run-in.
At the park, Abby will push Chance to tell her what’s going on, so he’ll reveal confidential information and share his theory about the staged car accident. Abby will worry about what Chance will do if he finds something concrete against Victor, but he’ll insist he can’t just let a criminal walk away.
That said, Chance will end up asking Abby if she wants him to back off. Abby will tell Chance that it has to be his call, so he’ll appreciate her for understanding and plant a kiss.
At Newman Media, Victor will pay Sally a visit and admit he’s pleased over how she’s handled the Ashland story so far.
After Victor hints about the decisions Sally will have to make moving forward, he’ll hope she proves herself and can stay in that position. Sally will wonder if that’s a compliment or a warning, but Victor will simply smile and tell her to have a nice day.
Next on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Adam will stop by Sally’s office on a fact-finding mission. Sally will try to stonewall Adam, but he’ll think they can work out an arrangement – some sort of payment in exchange for Ashland intel.
Sally will admit she could go for a quid pro quo, so Adam will ask what she has in mind. From there, Sally will insist she’s willing to share what she knows about Ashland. In exchange, Sally will want Adam to confess that he broke up with her solely because of this job and that he still loves her.
Adam will act like that deal is ludicrous before Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) interrupts – giving Adam a chance to bolt. Chloe will question whether Sally was really going to sell Nick out, but Sally will claim she wasn’t going to keep her end of the bargain.
That’ll leave Chloe concerned about Sally playing with fire. Sally will argue that she wasn’t trying to get back together with Adam and just wanted closure. Although Chloe will understand that, she’ll think it’s best if Sally forgets this plan and forgets Adam altogether.
Back with Adam, he’ll find Chance in the park and make him an offer. Adam will suggest Chance needs someone on the inside who understands all Victor’s tricks. If Chance lets him in the investigation, Adam will think maybe he can help.
At the ranch, Victor will rant about Victoria telling Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) the truth. Since Nick also told Victoria, Victor will fume over them all becoming accessories to a crime.
Nick will contend that Victor should’ve thought about that beforehand, but Victor will fire back about getting attacked instead of being appreciated. Victoria will counter that they’re just all trying to get on the same page here.
After Victor hears about the latest Chance run-in, he’ll argue that Ashland died in that ravine – period! Victor will think it’s important to stick to the story and present a united front. That way, the Newmans can come out of this unscathed after Chance moves on.
Victor will be adamant about putting this tragic chapter behind them, but Chance seems just as determined to get all the facts! As other Y&R news emerges, we’ll keep you posted.
