General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) could be Nikolas Cassadine’s (Marcus Coloma) prisoner. Is Esme secretly being held hostage and plotting her escape?
GH viewers will recall how Nikolas went to search for Esme after her parapet tumble. When Nikolas returned, he claimed he only found Esme’s shoe.
However, the fact that Nikolas was alone opens the door to other possibilities. What if Nikolas actually found Esme alive and stashed her somewhere?
Nikolas faked his own death, so he could easily be faking Esme’s death now. After all, this solution works out pretty well for Nikolas all things considered.
Nikolas has convinced Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) to stay married to him for starters. That at least buys Nikolas some time to undo the damage he caused by sleeping with Esme.
Nikolas has a chance to turn things around due to Esme’s presumed death, so it’d be in his best interest to make sure she’s locked up tight.
At this point, Nikolas is also hoping he can keep Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) out of the loop on his Esme hookup.
It looks like Spencer will ultimately discover the truth anyway, but keeping the secret could still apply to Nikolas’ original motives.
If Nikolas actually found Esme when he went looking for her, he would’ve had multiple reasons to hold her prisoner and never tell a soul.
As for telling Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) that Esme is dead, that could be a convenient way to stop him from searching.
If Esme is Nikolas’ hostage, he certainly doesn’t want Victor poking around.
Victor already threatened to kill Esme, but Nikolas insisted he couldn’t do that.
Assuming Nikolas’ conscience still won’t allow that fatal step, what if his solution is to just stash Esme indefinitely?
Esme belongs behind bars anyway after everything she’s done to Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Cameron Webber (William Lipton).
Perhaps Nikolas is using that to justify keeping Esme under lock and key.
GH fans might eventually see Esme stuck somewhere shouting for someone to let her out.
It’d be a great twist if Nikolas has been lying this whole time, so we’ll see how it all goes down.
General Hospital spoilers say Esme will inevitably return sooner or later, so maybe she’ll escape from Nikolas’ clutches with quite a story to tell!
