General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, August 17, reveals that Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) arranged for some fake Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) social media posts before Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) burned the suitcase contents.
After Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) was hauled into Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) office, Sonny called him out for lying since he never admitted he was discharged from the military after assaulting a superior officer.
It left Sonny with doubts about Dex being able to respect the chain of command.
Dex explained that when he was a kid, his brothers used to smack him around to the point where he’d end up in the hospital – and his parents did nothing.
That’s why when Dex’s superior officer was a guy who abused his wife and kids, Dex took his chance to deal with him and didn’t regret it.
Although Sonny understood and could relate, he still needed time to decide whether Dex was worth the trouble.
An annoyed Dex left behind the slip of paper to reveal how the jury voted, so Sonny looked at it and smirked victoriously.
At the courthouse, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) kept getting interrupted as he tried to tell Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) about being on her side all along and setting a trap for Esme.
When Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse) showed up, Trina expressed gratitude to Spencer and wished he’d seen the light about Esme sooner.
Rory stepped outside the courtroom with Trina and gave her an admittedly corny gift, which was a soda – just like the day they first met.
In a moment alone with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Cameron Webber (William Lipton), Spencer admitted to loving Trina.
Cam and Josslyn encouraged Spencer to tell Trina the truth, but he found her kissing Rory and heard them considering whether they were boyfriend and girlfriend now.
Spencer decided he couldn’t ruin Trina’s happiness and felt he’d only brought trouble to her life.
Now Spencer intended to keep quiet forever, so he pushed Josslyn and Cameron to keep their mouths shut, too.
However, Josslyn couldn’t promise she would keep quiet indefinitely. Once Josslyn joined Trina’s celebration party later, she seemed uneasy as she watched Trina and Rory in a close moment.
Back with Cameron on Wednesday’s GH episode, he put his arm around Spencer to comfort him and let him out of the courtroom.
Over with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), he was thrilled that Trina and Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) could now breathe a sigh of relief.
Curtis assured Portia that he would love Trina just like his own daughter, which left Portia looking uncomfortable.
As Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) graduation party guests arrived, she claimed to have morning sickness at night and ran off.
Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) checked on Willow, who needed a moment to collect herself and blamed it on hormones.
Later, TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) checked on Willow as well and learned the leukemia diagnosis was official.
Although TJ wouldn’t weigh on anything treatment related, he knew Willow had the best possible team and encouraged her to confide in Michael.
In the Metro Court restaurant, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) taunted Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) over not owning her half of the hotel anymore.
However, Nina did hope they could learn to be civil for the sake of Sonny’s children.
Carly made it clear that Nina would have no relationship with Donna Corinthos (Ava Rose) whatsoever.
After Carly flashed back to the DNA results confirming Nina was Willow’s mother, she suggested Nina was getting exactly what she deserved.
Back with Willow, she hugged TJ as Nina spied nearby. Nina seemed curious about what had Willow so upset.
Willow just wanted to enjoy one last night with Michael before everything changed, so she rejoined the party and plastered on a smile.
Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) also took another opportunity to nudge Carly in Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) direction, but Carly was adamant about anything more than friendship being complicated.
Carly flashed back to lying to Drew about Willow and Nina’s DNA results.
Drew spoke with Carly later about Mia Lombardi (Vanessa Mathison) wanting her to attend a corporate coaching retreat in Aruba.
Carly fished to find out if Drew was going, but he had to pass due to work.
At Wyndemere, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) showed off the search warrant and wanted her officers to start looking in Esme’s bedroom.
Jordan quizzed Nikolas thinking he was the last person to see Esme before she disappeared, but Ava entered and admitted she was instead.
Ava acted like Esme must’ve bolted like she planned to.
Just when it looked like Esme’s suitcase might be discovered behind the shrub on the terrace, Jordan got updates on Esme posting a social media rant about Trina’s acquittal.
Once Jordan left with all her backup, Victor admitted he was behind the fake posts, which made it look like Esme was in France.
That bought them time to destroy the evidence, so Ava was grateful.
Victor then pointed out that nothing made forgiveness happen faster than mutual jeopardy, so he really needed Nikolas and Ava to present a united front.
Afterward, Nikolas dumped Esme’s clothes and an envelope from a Maggie Fitzgerald letter into a container outside.
Once Nikolas poured some lighter fluid, he set the evidence on fire and watched it burn with Ava and Victor standing nearby.
General Hospital spoilers say a risky alliance has formed, so stay tuned to see what’s ahead for Victor, Ava and Nikolas.
