The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, August 26, teases that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will want Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) to publish a cover-up story while Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) spills the kiss news to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
At Newman Enterprises, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will assure Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) of his support, but he’ll want her to be careful with all these acquisitions and consult with him along the way.
Afterward, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Victor will talk about Victoria feeling like she has something to prove after Ashland Locke (Robert Newman). Victor will feel confident Victoria is going to prove herself in spades.
In the park, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will insist that the Ashland investigation is closed, but Adam will bring up the incriminating evidence he scored.
Adam will push Chance to right the wrong since it’d look bad if he covered up a crime for his father-in-law.
After Adam asks if Victor intimidated him, Chance will deny it and refuse to be intimidated by Adam either.
Although Adam will want Victor punished, Chance will act like Adam is the one heading down a dangerous, self-destructive path.
Next on Friday’s Y&R episode, Adam will stop by Sally’s office and apologize since things got so unpleasant between them.
Despite everything, Adam will still feel like Sally is the only one he can open up to.
Sally will invite Adam to share, so he’ll admit he’s acquired evidence that needs to come out.
It’ll dawn on Sally that Adam is just using her for revenge on Victor, but he’ll argue that a story like this could make her career.
Even if Sally gets fired, Adam will think there’ll be tons of other media companies waiting to hire her.
Besides, Adam won’t think Sally really wants to work for a man who staged a car crash to cover up the fact that his favorite son killed his daughter’s ex-husband.
After Adam goes over the deadly details, he’ll insist Victor is to blame for the cover-up and will add that the story should reflect that.
Adam will think this is about doing the right thing, but Sally won’t be so sure it’s right – especially since it’d mean throwing Chance under the bus.
Sally will act like Adam is casting Chance aside like her, but he’ll argue that he protected her job and from the all-out war he was about to start.
Once Sally realizes Adam has finally admitted the truth, she won’t get the satisfaction she was looking for.
Sally will argue that vengeance always comes first for Adam and won’t think he wanted to protect her.
In Sally’s opinion, Adam just didn’t want to risk his chance at revenge by confiding in her.
Sally will realize going after Victor is Adam’s singular goal – and she’ll feel like that’s going to be his downfall. That said, Sally will imply that it’s Adam’s problem now.
After Sally thanks Adam for the scoop, she’ll warn that she’s not about to make any promises or deals.
The days of doing what Adam wants will be over. “I do what I want now,” Sally will declare before storming out.
At Chancellor-Winters, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will admit he’s been doing some research on the music festival, but Devon Hastings (Bryton James) will shut him down without even looking at the data.
Afterward, Lily will push Devon to at least check out the info, so he’ll agree to.
However, Devon won’t think it’s the right move for the company at the moment and will insist this is just business.
Once Nate meets up with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) and complains, she’ll wonder if this new job is even worth it.
Despite Nate’s daily frustration, he won’t be ready to walk away.
In the podcast studio, Billy will pull back from the kiss and apologize for giving Chelsea the wrong impression.
Chelsea will realize she misread things, so she’ll want to just forget this and move on.
Billy and Chelsea will record their final podcast about goodbyes, which will bring some awkwardness.
Although Billy will want to talk about the kiss once they finish, Chelsea will insist it’s best to never bring it up again.
When Chelsea runs into Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) at Crimson Lights later, Chloe will wonder if something happened.
Chelsea won’t want to get into the details, but she’ll admit she messed up and feels stupid.
After Chelsea adds that she’s her own worst enemy, she won’t think anyone can do anything about that.
On the patio, Nick will sit down with Chance and learn Adam got his hands on all the Ashland evidence.
Back at Chancellor-Winters, Billy will find Lily and confess Chelsea kissed him after getting her wires crossed.
Lily will wonder if she should be concerned, but Billy will insist he set Chelsea straight and will act like she’s just feeling lost.
Once Billy says he’s ready to focus on being Lily’s full-time COO, he’ll want her to catch him up.
Lily will mention the latest drama between Nate and Devon before siding with Nate on the music festival idea.
In Victoria’s office, Sally will reveal that Adam came to her with a proposition.
After Sally mentions the evidence Adam claims to have regarding Ashland’s death, she’ll admit he asked her to run a story about it.
Victoria will be grateful for the heads-up and will ask if Sally shut this proposition down. “Because if you didn’t shoot down the idea completely, this might be useful,” Victoria will suggest as the wheels turn.
Back at Society, Victor and Nick will corner Adam at a table.
That’ll lead to them ganging up on Adam about what he hopes to accomplish. Nick will wonder if Adam is after Victoria’s CEO spot, but Victor will insist it’s not going to happen.
Once Victor suggests he protected Adam’s siblings like he protected Adam after he killed AJ on the farm, Adam will fire back about how his dad ruined him.
Adam will admit he’s still dealing with guilt and will think Nick’s going to be burdened with that now.
After Adam reflects on all the shame and questions in his subconscious, he’ll insist he doesn’t want Victoria’s job.
Adam will contend that maybe he just wants justice finally to be served.
Victor will tell Adam that he’s playing a dangerous game and will warn him not to.
After Adam stomps off, he’ll cross paths with an equally glum Chelsea in the park.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chelsea and Adam will have a lot to talk about soon, so stay tuned!
