Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, September 7, teases that Orpheus (George DelHoyo) revealed a stolen poison vial while Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) and Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) had their first symptom. Here’s how all the DOOL action went down.
At home on Wednesday’s Days episode, John Black (Drake Hogestyn) wanted to spend the day spoiling Marlena with strawberries, whipped cream and massage lotion. Although John enjoyed some passionate moments with Marlena, he still feared Orpheus was planning something.
Meanwhile, Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) revealed the results of her focus groups and determined that Abe Carver (James Reynolds) was perhaps too nice to run for office. All people wanted to talk about was Abe’s wife.
Paulina Price-Carver (Jackée Harry) feared she was dragging Abe down and suggested a temporary divorce, but Stephanie clarified that everyone found her exciting. When Paulina’s name came up, people said all the right buzzwords.
Stephanie felt confident that if Paulina ran for governor, she would likely win. With a little encouragement from Abe, Paulina eventually decided she’d start her own campaign.
At the warehouse where Orpheus previously held his hostages, Kayla and Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) showed Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) the location.
Jada lashed out over Steve playing the hero without the bomb squad, especially since they now had no idea where Orpheus was or what his next move would be.
At the pub on Wednesday’s Days episode, Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) got a double surprise as he learned about Kate’s kidnapping and reunion with Roman Brady (Josh Taylor).
Kate was apologetic for pressuring Eric about his feelings for Nicole Walker Hernandez (Arianne Zucker) and got a hint from Roman that Eric was moving on. Right as Kate inquired about Eric hitting the sheets with Jada, the detective herself walked in.
Kate and Jada exchanged official introductions before talk turned to the recent rescue. Jada gave Roman a lecture for playing cowboy with his pals, but she softened and accepted the offer to stick around for Roman’s belated birthday cake.
Back with Stephanie, she saw the news alert about the kidnapping crisis and blew up at Steve for hiding the truth. However, Steve insisted he did it for Kayla’s safety along with Kate and Marlena’s. Orpheus warned Steve and the others not to contact the cops or anyone else.
Stephanie was grateful that Kayla was OK and agreed to stay for an early dinner.
At the lab, Orpheus surprised Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) and revealed he knew all about Stefan DiMera’s (Brandon Barash) revival. Nevertheless, Orpheus was more interested in a particular vial – a dangerous one that could be used to get revenge on Roman, Steve and especially John.
Dr. Rolf threatened Orpheus with a nearby scalpel, but Orpheus insisted he had the vial in his possession and tossed it at the doc. That led to Dr. Rolf realizing that the contents of the vial had already been used for Orpheus’ plot.
While Kate sneezed on Roman’s birthday cake, Kayla sneezed near the pepper-crusted steaks at home. Marlena also sneezed in bed with John and assumed it must be something in the lotion he offered.
As Orpheus continued his explanation, he suggested the freed hostages were probably off celebrating their health. Unfortunately, Orpheus made it clear that would change and said Roman, John and Steve had simply delayed the deaths of the captives.
By the time Orpheus’ scheme was complete, he felt confident his targets would wish the bomb had gone off! We’ll bring you updates as other Days details emerge.
