The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Thursday, September 8 Recap – Kyle Kicks Adam Out of Photoshoot – Chelsea’s Surprise Johnny Visit

the young and the restless spoilers

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, September 8, reveals that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will kick Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) out of a photoshoot while Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) enjoys a surprise Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind) visit.

In the park, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will seem nervous just before her first Marchetti photoshoot gets underway. Adam will show up to observe, so Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will politely try to get him to leave until Kyle takes over.

Kyle will argue that Adam needs to get out of the way and let the people with jobs on this shoot do them. After Kyle calls Adam a charity case, he’ll warn him not to give Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) any grief and predict that Adam won’t last long at Jabot.

Kyle will insist that until then, Adam has nothing to offer and doesn’t belong. Adam will guess he’ll just have to prove himself and will admit it wouldn’t be the first time.

Later, Diane will cross paths with Adam at the office, so they’ll commiserate over the focus on their past misdeeds. After Diane suggests it’ll be good to have an ally around, Adam will feel the same.

However, Diane will think the difference is that Adam doesn’t have a specific enemy at Jabot who’s actively targeting him. Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is never going to change the way she feels, so Diane will think Phyllis is an enemy for life.

Back at the photoshoot, Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) will complain to Kyle about Tessa coming across too self-conscious. Fortunately, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will know exactly what to say, so Tessa will get more comfortable posing for photos after a pep talk.

At Crimson Lights, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will talk to Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) about his plan to make a big move while Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) is out of town. Elena will warn that this could end badly, but Nate will seem annoyed over the lack of support.

Once Nate joins the meeting at Chancellor-Winters, he’ll be full of energy and helpful, proactive suggestions. Imani Benedict (temporarily played by Denise Boutte) will sense that Nate has something in the works, so he’ll hint about taking her advice.

Afterward, Nate will make a call and talk about moving forward with the music festival. Although it’ll be costly to cancel these plans, Nate will express confidence in them and get ready to make this happen.

When Imani runs into Elena at the coffeehouse, she’ll mention that Nate said Elena wanted him to quit. Imani will wonder if Elena is upset that Nate shared that, so Elena will ask if Imani was hoping she’d be upset.

It’ll leave Elena wondering what else Imani is hoping for with Nate. Elena will insist she sees what Imani is doing and will encourage her to stop. After Elena rants about the damage that could be done, she’ll point out that Imani is pushing Nate to go behind Devon’s back.

Imani will realize this is about the music festival, which Elena will think is a mistake. Nevertheless, Imani will act like she simply has more faith in Nate as a businessman than Elena does.

As for Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), he’ll talk to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) about Chelsea and the tricky Johnny situation. Lily will see the value in letting Chelsea spend some time with Johnny – that way, he’ll know she cared when he eventually finds out the truth about his bio mom.

Back at Crimson Lights, Chelsea will make a disappointing phone call to her mom since she won’t be able to visit with Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) after all. Chelsea will also insist the podcast isn’t happening and that it’s a done deal.

Soon after on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Chelsea will look distraught when overhears Lauren talking about her amazing replacement at Marchetti.

Fortunately, Billy will turn Chelsea’s frown into a smile when she reads his text. Billy will invite Chelsea to bring Connor up to hang out with Johnny on the GCAC rooftop.

By the pool, Chelsea will chat with Johnny briefly and weird him out by making sure he’s got enough sunscreen on. Billy will hope Chelsea’s feeling better, so she’ll admit this helps and will suggest she’s taking the other stuff one day at a time.

At Society, Jack will struggle to believe that Phyllis and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) were really so innocent in the Talia Morgan (Natalie Morales) story.

Jack’s defense of Diane will irritate Nikki and Phyllis, but he’ll mostly act like he’s defending Kyle’s right to give his mother a second chance. Diane will be putting in the work to prove herself as far as Jack’s concerned, so he won’t appreciate the latest move against her.

After Nikki and Diane debate who convinced Talia’s editor to kill the rest of the articles, Nikki will privately admit she’s got a new approach – one that involves going to Los Angeles next week to see Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan).

Nikki will suggest that Talia’s editor might have a change of heart if Deacon has something juicy to add. Phyllis will point out that Deacon helped Diane fake her death, so she’ll wonder if Nikki can handle this. Nikki will assure Phyllis that she can definitely handle it – and that it’s long overdue!

As other Y&R news comes in, we’ll bring you updates. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Nikki and Phyllis will do whatever it takes to take Diane down, so stick with the CBS soap. CDL’s the place to be for scorching Young and the Restless spoilers, updates and news, so pop back in soon.
