General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that we have to ask: Is Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) not Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) bio dad or was he just misdiagnosed? Either way, a genetic anomaly points to a major revelation.
In the November 14 episode, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) was relieved yet taken aback over Curtis’ genetic screening results.
Curtis didn’t have a single one of the genes associated with schizophrenia, which was highly anomalous under the circumstances.
That prompted Portia to ask if Marshall had ever had any kind of genetic screening done, but he pointed out that he was diagnosed a long time ago.
Marshall’s doctors did their best to pinpoint what he was up against, but there was obviously no genetic proof to back up the diagnosis.
Of course, GH writers surely had a reason for Portia’s reaction and questions. It seems like there are two possibilities to consider here.
The first one is that Curtis’ mother lied about his paternity. Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) might know something about that, so she could potentially spill some shockers eventually.
Could the show put Curtis in a situation where he’ll lose blood ties to his father and gain a bio daughter in Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali)?
It might be interesting if Curtis finds out Marshall isn’t his bio dad and then learns Trina is his biological child.
Curtis may end up on quite the emotional rollercoaster if that happens, so it’d be good from a drama standpoint.
At the same time, it might be a little overkill when it comes to derailing Curtis’ life.
The second option is that Marshall was misdiagnosed and perhaps doesn’t have schizophrenia at all.
There might be another reason for Marshall’s symptoms and another medication that would do a better job at treating them.
Portia could encourage Marshall to get his own genetic screening done and see what’s really going on.
If Marshall truly isn’t Curtis’ father, that might make Portia even less inclined to break the news about Trina and throw more chaos at him.
No matter how this plays out, it sounds like a bomb’s on the verge of dropping!
