General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Thursday, January 5, tease that Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) will talk to Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) about a major accomplishment as they take a moment to count their blessings. Last year brought some challenges as well, but Curtis and Portia will hope that things are looking up for 2023.
Over with Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner), she’ll hint to Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) about something they’ll never know.
Felicia may think both Mac Scorpio (John J. York) and Cody would’ve benefited from a father-son relationship if the DNA results had been a match.
Of course, GH fans know the results actually confirmed Mac was Cody’s biological father, but he lied in hopes of getting the inheritance he was after.
Although Cody won’t be ready to come clean about that, Felicia may suggest Cody should get to know Mac better anyway.
Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) demise might also be a topic of discussion if Felicia passes along what she’s undoubtedly learned from Mac, so Cody may face a crushing blow.
Next, the news of Britt’s death will hit hard for Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth), especially since he was hoping she’d stick around Port Charles and have more time with her loved ones.
Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) will admit that Britt decided to stay in town before “The Hook’s” poisonous scratch was revealed.
After Liesl questions Austin about Britt’s change of heart, she may realize she partially owes him for guiding Britt to the right decision.
Liesl had a chance to be with Britt at the end, so she’ll be incredibly grateful.
Over with Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), they’ll also face devastating updates on Britt’s fate.
Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) just got a phone call from Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner), so she’ll be in the loop as she mourns with Maxie and Brad.
Since Nina knows about Britt’s Huntington’s disease, she’ll be able to explain Britt’s strange behavior leading up to her tragic outcome.
The fact that Britt was struggling so much will make all this even harder for Maxie and Brad to bear.
At GH, it looks like Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) will talk to Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) and realize he’s the father of Esme Prince’s (Avery Pohl) baby.
The situation is complicated since Esme claims to have amnesia and acted like she didn’t even know she was pregnant until she saw her baby bump.
Naturally, it’s possible that Esme is lying, but Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) doesn’t think so since Esme’s time in captivity would give her an alibi in the hook case. As it stands now, Esme supposedly doesn’t even know her own name.
Martin will accept a new client, so Nikolas might have him defend Esme since she’s still carrying his child – not to mention Nik wants to stay as in control as possible here.
However, that’ll be awfully difficult with a wildcard “baby mama” who may or may not be pretending she has memory issues!
Although Liz believes Esme, she’ll turn to Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) for his expertise and wonder what he thinks about Esme’s amnesia story.
In Thursday’s preview video, Esme looks surprised when she sees someone and insists she knows who that person is.
Could Esme experience a spark of memory when she sees Kevin since he looks just like Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom)?
Regardless, Kevin will weigh in on all the Esme drama and talk to Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) about Esme’s amnesia claims.
Maybe Kevin will even suggest hypnosis if he truly believes Esme could benefit from it.
At Spring Ridge, Heather Webber (Alley Mills) will sneak back in and admit to Ryan that she’s “The Hook.”
Although Heather will defend herself, Ryan will push her to confess to the cops so Esme can go free!
General Hospital spoilers say Heather and Ryan will do plenty of bickering, so stay tuned to see how it all plays out.
