Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers for Monday, January 9, tease that Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) will face a crushing blow when she learns Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) didn’t make it. Marlena will certainly be upset about the loss of Kate and will worry for Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) as well as herself.
As Marlena starts to fade, she’ll have a deep discussion with Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan). It’ll feel like Marlena is nearing the end of the road, but Eric won’t stand for that.
Since Eric will refuse to let Marlena die without a fight, he’ll hold Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) at gunpoint within the next couple episodes.
Monday’s cliffhanger might involve armed Eric demanding answers about the missing orchid and refusing to believe Kristen knows nothing.
However, Kristen really doesn’t know where the orchid is or who stole it from the DiMera secret room.
The answers to those questions will come down the line, but Marlena’s loved ones will rally around her with support for now.
At some point, Days spoilers say John Black (Drake Hogestyn) will stop Lucas Horton’s (Bryan Dattilo) fight with Orpheus (George DelHoyo) at Statesville.
Unfortunately, Lucas will have another far worse battle with Orpheus later.
Lucas will get updates on Kate’s death, so he’ll assault Orpheus and blame him for the loss of his mom.
Days spoilers state that John will intervene once more, but he won’t be there to stop Lucas from drinking in the aftermath.
Orpheus will offer some forbidden booze that he’s managed to get his hands on, so he’ll hope he can tempt Lucas into throwing away his sobriety.
While Lucas wrestles with his next move, Days spoilers say Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) will keep trying to get in touch with Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein).
DOOL fans know Chad needs to tell Stephanie about Kayla landing at the hospital, but Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) just declined a very important call.
It looks like Alex will turn Stephanie’s phone off completely, but he’ll regret it when he learns why Chad was calling.
Until then, Stephanie will make love with Alex before Chad finally finds her.
Although Stephanie will race to the hospital, she’ll be too late to say any last words to Kayla.
Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) will urge Kayla to hang on for as long as she can, but she’ll ultimately meet the same grim fate as Kate.
