In tonight’s The Good Doctor episode, Shaun and Lea were enjoying their time off when they took a break. They stopped at a rest stop. They were enjoying stretching their legs and they witnessed a car run over a dog. The poor dog was limping away in pain. Lea felt bad for it.

She went after the dog. Shaun followed. They soon found the dog in the woods and Shaun performed a small procedure to help get the dog out of pain. He also picked up the dog to carry him back to the car. A trip to the vet wasn’t scheduled, but Shaun made time for it.

They were driving to the vet while back at the hospital there was a patient that came in with horrific wounds. He got stabbed by several pieces of shrapnel. Each piece had to be carefully removed. Marcus and Alex were the surgeons on the case. They had to carefully remove each piece that was stabbing the patient and they had to do it fast before he started bleeding out. Morgan stopped by to supervise as well as annoy them. She eventually left and everyone was happy to see her go.

Elsewhere, Asher noticed that Danica came in on her day off. She just worked all night. She was supposed to be home sleeping and yet she came in because she claimed she wanted to run an exercise on packaging wounds. He literally saw her grab a bunch of bandages without asking a single question.

He had no clue what was going on until he called her and she asked for help. Dani has a friend on parole. He went to a party he shouldn’t have. He got shot for it. He couldn’t go to the hospital because he wasn’t supposed to be partying with his ex-cons and so he asked Dani to treat him.

Dani tried to treat his injuries. She also brought in Asher because she wanted to know if she had to remove the bullet and he suggested that they leave it as it was. It was too close to an artery to be removed. But then Dani’s friend began feeling worse. The bullet was creating an infection.

He could lose the whole leg to sepsis if something wasn’t done and so Dani wanted to perform surgery at her place. She sterilized everything. She called Asher to help her carry out the surgery. And right before she was going to make her first cut, someone knocked at the door.

It was Audrey. Audrey was supposed to meet up with Dani. She forgot all about it because her friend Vince and treating his wounds and so Audrey stopped by Dani’s place to check on her. She wanted to see if everything was alright. Dani lied that it was. She was also doing her best to shoo Audrey when Audrey overheard Vince cry out in pain. She then pushed her way into the apartment. She saw the situation. She tried to warn Dani and Asher from doing anything further. She said they have to call for an ambulance.

Audrey wanted to send Vince to the hospital. Only he was refusing to go. He couldn’t afford to get into any more trouble and so Dani worked on Audrey. She said if Audrey was the one doing the surgery – they’d have more success. Dani and Asher have already gone too far to turn back now and so Audrey joined them in their rebellion. She checked on Vince’s legs. The bullet had migrated to an even more difficult spot. Audrey performed surgery on Vince. She removed the bullet and then she saved the bullet for evidence.

Shaun was attending the surgery at the vet’s. Lea had called Aaron for backup because the vet hadn’t wanted to perform the surgery on the dog. He had actually suggested that they euthanized him. Lea disagreed. She convinced the vet to perform surgery. She had Shaun and Aaron acting as backup during the surgery, but the vet pretty much ignored them. He did his own thing and he saved the dog’s life. Lea had also made posters of the dog to see if he belonged to a family. And if no one claims him, Lea said that he’ll come home with them.

But someone did claim the dog. The family found him thanks to Lea’s posters. They came and the dog ran right into their arms. The dog found his family. Lea and Shaun learned that taking care of a sick dog had helped prep them for their son. And they walked away in a great mood. Back at the hospital, Audrey discussed what happened with Marcus. She thought Dani and Asher should get a warning and he said that Dani has always been a troublemaker. She was even one on her first surgery. He thinks maybe it’s time to cut her loose. So, that’s what they did.

Danica has been cut from the program. The bullet that was in Vince had suddenly disappeared and even Alex’s surgery worked out. Alex was able to remove all the shrapnel as well as save his patient’s arm. And all he had to do was go against Morgan’s opinion on the surgery.

Alex will always be Morgan’s friend, but she doesn’t make it easy and so Alex took it as a good sign when Morgan admitted to him that the implantation didn’t work out.

THE END!
