General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, February 2, reveals that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) were at Kelly’s when Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) showed up.
The mood was somber due to Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) looming memorial service, but Sam offered the good news about Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) having her baby.
At GH, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) admired their grandchild outside the NICU.
In Britt’s office, Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) took a moment to reflect on her daughter as Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) offered support.
Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) eventually arrived with a brown bag and hinted about something he wanted to do since he had bonded so often with Britt in her office.
Brad had been able to talk to Britt about anything, so he wished she’d felt the same way and shared her illness.
Liesl thought Britt needed someone to laugh with, so Brad seemed like he could live with that.
Once Brad was alone, he pulled a pint of ice cream out of the bag he brought along with two spoons.
Brad ate a little and cracked some jokes about heaven before leaving Britt’s spoon on her desk.
In Hamilton Finn’s (Michael Easton) office, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) invited Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) to join her ice skating outing with the Webber boys and admitted it was Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) idea.
Although Finn wasn’t exactly friends again with Liz, he acknowledged that they were on good terms.
Laura was sorry that their romance didn’t work out and still hoped real friendship was a possibility.
After Laura hinted about trouble with Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss), she pointed out that bonds like Liz and Nik’s were hard to break.
Next, Elizabeth privately ripped into Nik for recruiting Carolyn Webber (Denise Crosby), who refused to help block Esme Prince’s (Avery Pohl) memories.
Nikolas acted like he was just trying to keep them out of prison, but Liz clearly thought he’d gone too far.
Elizabeth was done being dragged into Nikolas’ lies and now realized she couldn’t be around Nik anymore.
Once Liz walked away, Nikolas chased after her and said they weren’t done talking.
When Nikolas grabbed Elizabeth’s arm, Finn and Laura witnessed it.
That led to Finn warning Nikolas to get his hands off Liz – and Laura also asked if Elizabeth was all right.
Soon after, Laura cornered Nikolas alone and said she was at a complete loss on how to reach her son.
That scared Laura to death, so she urged Nikolas to dig down and find the man he used to be. Laura needed to believe it wasn’t too late.
At Spring Ridge, Heather Webber (Alley Mills) snatched the legal document away from Esme and said it looked like she was about to sign her baby away.
Once Heather learned this was Nikolas’ doing, she warned about what a ruthless family the Cassadines were and insisted Esme couldn’t sign this.
Esme argued that it was her decision, but Heather felt that Esme would be signing her rights away forever.
When Esme pointed out that Nik said it was temporary, Heather argued that men lie all the time and added that Esme couldn’t trust a single one of them.
Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) appeared behind them and stared, so Esme briefly thought something happened to Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom).
Heather clarified that it was Ryan, but she downplayed the threat by acting like Ryan was locked in.
Once Heather moved Esme to another table, she got Esme to agree she wouldn’t make any decisions until at least tomorrow.
Heather then stooped down beside Ryan and assumed he’d known about Nikolas all along.
After Heather warned that Nikolas was trying to steal their grandchild, she added that the cops were onto Ryan.
Heather mentioned Maggie Fitzgerald and assumed she knew something about Ryan being Esme’s biological father.
With all that in mind, Heather felt that there was only one thing left to do: bust out of there.
When Ryan shot her a look about Esme, Heather said of course she’d be coming with them.
In the chapel, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) asked Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) what would happen if Esme was in prison when she gave birth.
Spencer then wondered what would happen if Nikolas was also locked up, so Jordan asked why Nik would be in prison.
Although Spencer acted like it was just wishful thinking, Jordan seemed suspicious and questioned if he might have evidence that Nik committed a crime.
Spencer assured Jordan that if he did, she’d be the first to know.
Afterward, Spencer talked to Sonny about being more certain than ever about going after custody.
Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) ultimately got updates on Spencer’s decision to keep Nikolas’ situation a family matter.
Back with Jordan, she learned Sam and Dante would be leaving tomorrow for London on their Maggie investigation.
Maggie’s last known address was five years old, but Sam hoped she was still alive and able to offer info.
The more Jordan thought about the hook attacks, the more she suspected they were a way of punishing Esme’s enemies.
Jordan was hopeful that finding Maggie would lead them to Esme’s father.
In the chapel again, Nina kicked off Britt’s memorial service with a few words about how unexpected and unforgettable she was.
Brad also spoke about Britt’s journey from “The Britch” to a better person – though what never changed was the fact that she was his best friend.
After Scott Baldwin’s (Kin Shriner) speech, Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) led everyone to the wall in memory of GH’s distinguished doctors, so they all admired the addition of Britt’s photo.
Spencer decided to check out Terry’s surprise later and opened up to Trina alone about what a special person Britt was.
Once Spencer ranted about Nikolas not even showing up, Trina pointed out that today should be about Britt.
Elsewhere, Nikolas realized he was late and told Laura that he’d wanted to be at the memorial for Spencer, so they made their way to the chapel in hopes of catching the end.
Once Nikolas and Laura appeared, Spencer said his father had once again managed to disappoint him even more than before.
After all the damage Nikolas had done, Spencer vowed to make sure Nik couldn’t hurt his little brother or sister in the same way.
In private, Elizabeth told Finn that she felt like she’d lost her best friend, but she also knew she shouldn’t be talking to Finn about Nikolas.
Finn assured Liz that he still cared about her, so she decided that he deserved the truth.
Elizabeth confessed that she lied and was never pregnant with Nikolas’ baby.
While Liesl said goodbye to Britt by her photo, Maxie and Sasha joined Sonny and Nina in admiring their new grandbaby outside the NICU.
