Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, February 9, reveals that Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) pushed Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) to admit Joey Johnson (Tanner Stine) asked her to keep him company. Wendy confessed that was true, but she defended Joey since she thought he was worried about his brother.
Tripp insisted Joey was trying to play matchmaker instead, but he didn’t want to get in the way of Wendy’s budding romance with Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman).
Since Wendy was supposed to go to the movies with Johnny before Joey summoned her, Tripp pushed her to call Johnny and get their date back on track.
At the bistro on Thursday’s Days episode, Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) was with Johnny as they watched Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) leaning toward Alex Kiraikis’ (Robert Scott Wilson) lips.
Allie took the lemon from Alex’s mouth into her own, but she dropped it when Chanel confronted her.
Alex insisted this was innocent – just like the missing underwear fiasco. However, Chanel felt like every time she turned around, Allie and Alex were together.
Allie thought the same thing could be said about Chanel and Johnny since they showed up there for drinks, too.
Since Allie was clearly too drunk for a proper conversation, Chanel wanted to take Allie home to sober up.
Allie argued that she was fine and having fun with Alex, so Chanel and Johnny wound up leaving in a huff.
Back at the pub, Wendy wasn’t pleased to see Johnny walk in with his arm around Chanel.
Johnny tried to downplay things, but Wendy didn’t think she could build a relationship with Johnny when there was still something going on with his ex.
After Wendy said she didn’t want to hurt Johnny, she admitted she also didn’t want to get hurt.
Wendy ended up returning to her table with Tripp, who offered her comfort and a beer.
Once Johnny joined Chanel at Paulina Price’s (Jackee Harry) place, he insisted he could fix things with Wendy tomorrow. Chanel and Johnny then bonded over some glasses of wine.
Johnny noticed it was the same kind that he drank with Chanel in Italy, so they realized they were reminiscing about their marriage like Allie had accused them of doing.
Chanel eventually leaned in for a kiss, but Johnny turned his head and avoided her lips.
Although Johnny was mad at Allie, he didn’t want to do that to her – and he didn’t think Chanel wanted to either.
Chanel grumbled about how Johnny was right and decided she should stay loyal to Allie, even though she didn’t deserve it.
Once Allie made it back to her apartment, Alex helped her unlock the door. They were both plastered from all the shots, so Alex asked Allie if he could crash in the office again.
Alex promised to keep his underwear on this time, but Allie suggested he could crash in her bed if he wanted – underwear optional.
Although Alex hesitated, Allie pointed out that he previously said she was one of the hottest girls he’d ever been with. Alex admitted that was true, so Allie pushed him to prove it.
That led to Allie making out with Alex as they stripped down and leaned back on the sofa to hook up.
In the park on Thursday’s Days episode, Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) ran into Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and guessed they weren’t mates anymore.
Jack wondered if they ever really were and ripped into Xander for dragging Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) into his latest kidnapping mess.
If Gwen couldn’t have unconditional love from her father, Xander didn’t see the point of having a father at all.
Since Gwen was constantly living in Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) shadow, Xander thought that was the real problem.
Based on how Jack disowned Gwen for standing up for someone she cared about, Xander insisted he didn’t want to be friends with someone like him anyway.
In Gwen’s hotel suite, Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) grabbed her phone since she wouldn’t stop obsessing over Xander not calling her yet. Once Leo gave Gwen a pep talk, Xander arrived at the door.
That gave Xander a chance to open up about his run-in with Jack and how he stood up for Gwen.
Leo pointed out that Gwen and Xander didn’t have to take this lying down – especially not when Gwen had kept quiet about Jennifer Deveraux (Cady McClain) running over her and leaving her for dead.
Once Leo was alone, he looked forward to doing his “lady whistleblower” gossip column since The Salem Spectator would soon be under new ownership.
At the Horton house on Thursday’s DOOL show, Gwen let herself in using her key and assumed Jack would want it back.
Jack asked if that was all, so Gwen admitted there was another reason for her visit.
Gwen brought up The Spectator, so Jack hoped she wasn’t there to ask for her job back. Xander appeared and insisted they were there to get “the whole bloody paper” instead.
If Jack didn’t sign over ownership of the paper to Gwen and Xander, then Gwen vowed to send Jennifer to prison for running her over.
At the Kiriakis mansion on Thursday’s Days episode, Sarah Horton (Lindsay Arnold) was surprised to see Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder), who revealed he had a letter from Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) to Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston).
Sarah reeled over the news that Philip faked his death, framed Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and ended up in a mental hospital.
Rex hoped he could count on Sarah to keep this news under wraps, but he hated asking her to keep secrets from her husband.
Sarah assured Rex it wouldn’t be a problem since Xander wasn’t her husband anymore. Rex got updates on the divorce papers being filed and Xander landing back in bed with Gwen.
After Rex urged Sarah to get all her frustration out, she punched a pillow and had a major outburst.
That didn’t help much, so Sarah pulled Rex into a kiss and pushed him to make love to her.
Rex hesitated, but Sarah insisted this was his chance since he never got over her. Once Sarah pulled Rex’s shirt off, he headed to the bedroom with her.
