Lady Gaga stopped by the Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday for a candid interview and performance. The pair talked about Gaga flexing her acting muscle in her latest video, “Marry the Night.”
In addition to acting, singing, and performing on the track, Gaga also directed the 13 minute mini-movie inspired by her own journey to super stardom. Or what Gaga humbly calls, “having a job.” The songstress reveals that “Marry the Night” is about marrying your own darkness, accepting your own struggles, and keeping them close to your heart.
On whether or not she’d like to act she says she’s not sure. Gaga admits, “No one ever asks me to audition.” But that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t get offered acting gigs. Quite the opposite.
“When I get offered jobs and I don’t audition, I turn them down.” Claiming she wants to work for it and audition like everyone else, Gaga says, “my dream would be to be in a Woody Allen movie.” I’m pretty sure that would be a match made in heaven.
So what’s next for Gaga? Well, she’s nominated for three Grammys (Album of the Year and Best Pop Album for Born this Way and Best Pop Solo Performance for You and I) and she’s prepping for her upcoming tour. She’s definitely not taking any time off that’s for sure. Gaga joked, “I didn’t get into music to sit next to a palm tree.”
Don’t know what to get the Little Monster in your life this holiday season? There is always Gaga’s latest project chronicling her life in pictures, the coffee table book Lady Gaga by Terry Richardson. Ellen warned that not all images were suitable for television, so maybe tuck that one away when Grandma comes over.
