The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will feel like her luck is turning around after Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) pull off an amazing feat. Things have looked bleak for quite a while now, but Diane will suddenly have hope again when she’s released from jail.
Since Jack has been fighting hard for another bail hearing, the next one may result in Diane being allowed to come home until her trial.
Of course, Jack will keep working hard to make sure there’s no trial at all, but getting Diane out of lockup will be a nice first step.
However, we have to consider how Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) might react to this shift in Diane’s story.
Diane’s jail release could be a turning point that leads to her exoneration, which would be pretty infuriating for Phyllis.
Although Diane didn’t kill her, Phyllis assured Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) that Diane is far from innocent!
Despite Phyllis’ remorse for the sorrow and problems she caused her children, she clearly isn’t sorry about anything that’s happened to Diane.
In fact, Phyllis may think Diane is getting off too easy and decide to do something about that.
Y&R spoilers for May sweeps hint that Phyllis will keep pursuing revenge on Diane from the fake grave.
That makes it sound like Phyllis might take a huge risk by “haunting” Diane and gaslighting her into thinking she’s after deadly payback.
After all, Phyllis has proven that she makes reckless mistakes when Diane is involved.
Diane drives Phyllis crazy and makes her lose her ability to make good decisions to protect herself.
The best thing Phyllis can do right now is hide out somewhere and try to form a new plan to get out of this mess.
Instead, Phyllis might make that mess even worse if she can’t resist the temptation to torment her worst enemy.
Will Phyllis “haunt” Diane by pretending she’s truly dead? Could Phyllis send Diane creepy messages or even appear to her in some way?
That could mean taking a real gamble and might lead to getting caught, but it does sound like something Phyllis would do.
When it comes to Diane, Phyllis is always going to resort to wild behavior that doesn’t benefit her much other than getting petty revenge.
Diane didn’t really kill Phyllis, but her rival might appear to her as a fake ghost and insist Diane might as well have.
This could result in Diane figuring out Phyllis is alive if the latter isn’t careful, but this potential “haunting” could bring some fun scenes.
