The Young and the Restless Spoilers Recap: Tuesday, May 9 – Phyllis Phones Daniel – Summer & Kyle Move To Pool House

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, May 9, teases that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will cross paths with Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) while searching for Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) at Society.

After Kyle reveals the news that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) is out on bail, he’ll explain that Summer launched a confrontation and took off.

Mariah will initially be on “Team Summer” since seeing Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) accused murderer under the same roof has to be difficult – not that Mariah will believe Diane is guilty.

Once Kyle shares his concerns about Summer slipping away, Mariah will amend her stance and insist she’s “Team Love” since she’s really hoping everything works out for all parties involved.

After Kyle leaves, Mariah will encounter Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy), who’ll confess that she’s not on speaking terms with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) due to all his lies.

Elena will insist that power and success are all Nate cares about now.

Although Mariah will hope that maybe it’s just a phase, Elena will suggest there’s no coming back from what happened between them.

Once Elena has some flashbacks of Nate making promises he ultimately didn’t keep, she’ll smash the framed photo of them in their bedroom, pack her suitcase and move out.

At Crimson Lights, Nate will remember sleeping with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) in Los Angeles – and then he’ll recall Elena confronting him.

Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will sense that Nate’s troubled, so she’ll sit down with him and get him to open up.

Nate will talk about how he’s changed a lot since he first got together with Elena and will admit he’s made some big mistakes.

Sharon will wonder if Nate likes the man he sees in the mirror, so Nate will confess that he doesn’t tonight – though he’ll like who he is in general.

After Sharon suggests forgiveness might be possible, Nate will contend that he’s past the point of no return and will think he has to accept that.

In the park on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, Summer will push Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) to get over himself and stop making this about his guilty conscience when they have to protect Phyllis.

Daniel will insist it’s not right to let Kyle suffer and leave Diane behind bars, but Summer will point out that Diane is out on bail.

Once Daniel stands his ground and leaves, Summer will fret on a park bench until Kyle shows up.

Kyle will show compassion for Summer, but he’ll also feel like they can work through the fact that Diane is home again.

Talk will turn to Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) needing to know Diane is back, but Summer will insist on holding off on telling Harrison about Phyllis’ death.

Kyle will be confused about why, but Summer will act like she’s just not ready.

When Kyle and Summer return to the Abbott mansion, they’ll find a big fight in progress.

Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will be ripping into each other since they’ll obviously disagree on this whole Diane bail situation.

Diane and Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) will also be on hand to interject with comments, but Kyle will angrily complain about the battleground and demand a safe space for Summer.

Since it might be the only way for his wife to have some peace, Kyle will decide to move out to the pool house with Summer and Harrison.

In Daniel’s suite, he’ll get a phone call and realize it must be Phyllis since no one’s speaking, but they aren’t hanging up either.

After Daniel insists Phyllis shouldn’t be mad at Summer for spilling, he’ll urge his mom to come home so they can figure this out and be a family again.

When Daniel shows up outside the Abbott house, he’ll duck out of sight as Summer heads upstairs.

Daniel will decide against telling Kyle and will dash away from the door moments later.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Daniel will continue to wrestle with his conscience, so stay tuned for updates on how long he can take the pressure.
