General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that with Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) dead, the show is down a twisted Cassadine. They really need to get the ball rolling on Nikolas Cassadine’s (Adam Huss) return and kick off some new storylines.
It’s possible Adam Huss could officially take over the role, but it’s also possible the show will take the time to find a suitable long-term Nik recast.
Nikolas is an important character who deserves to be on canvas, especially since Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) could use his father.
Ava Jerome (Maura West) could be in for quite a shock if Nikolas “haunts” her after his coma awakening.
Nikolas is currently in Mason Gatlin’s (Nathanyael Grey) care, but he might wake up at some point and bribe his way out of this situation.
Perhaps Nikolas could work out a deal with Mason and his boss – one of gratitude that would allow them all to work together.
Nikolas might get some help with his revenge plot since he’d surely want to mess with Ava after everything that happened.
It’s easy to imagine Nikolas finding ways to torment Ava, who might get rattled over all sorts of creepy signs.
Wyndemere could suddenly get a whole lot spookier and leave Ava on edge over what’s happening to her.
Maybe GH writers could even make it seem like Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) has come back from the dead – only to reveal it’s Nikolas targeting Ava instead.
Regardless, there’s surely a way for Nikolas to beat the charges related to Esme Prince’s (Avery Pohl) time in captivity.
Nikolas could also fight for custody of Ace and maybe even kick off a renewed romance with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) since her relationship with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) is such a bland failure.
Bottom line, Victor’s absence has left a Cassadine-shaped hole for the show to fill.
Nikolas may not be as evil as Victor, but he could still show off his villainous side if he plots his revenge on Ava and Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) gets dragged into it.
