The Young and the Restless Update: Monday, July 31 – Sons Disobey Victor, New Job Offer and Former Flame’s Fury

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Monday, July 31, indicates that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will have some bad news for Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). Adam will act like Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) changed his mind and decided he was in charge of the merger out of the blue, but Nick will suspect his brother crossed him again.

It’ll rile Nick up since Adam will still be struggling to let go of his Newman Media takeover fixation. Nick will think they should focus on moving forward and will lash out at Adam for making Victor more controlling.

After Adam reveals that Victor took off for Germany on business, he’ll explain that their father expects them to sit tight and await further instructions.

Nick will feel like it’s a test they can’t pass since they’ll be going against those instructions if they act, but they’ll look unproductive if they do nothing.

Adam will think they should choose the lesser evil and take action without Victor, so Nick will suggest a splashy launch that’ll make their competitors take notice.

After Nick insists Adustus is a terrible name that goes against everything they’re trying to represent, he’ll push Adam to change it to something else.

At the GCAC, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will dream that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is furious with her for faking her demise and blowing up Summer Newman-Abbott’s (Allison Lanier) marriage.

In that nightmare, Nick will try to bribe Phyllis to leave Genoa City forever if she gets exonerated by some miracle.

Once Phyllis awakens, she’ll head down to the jazz lounge.

That’ll give Phyllis a chance to talk to Summer and Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) about her money problems and how she’s tempted to take Adam up on his job offer.

Daniel and Summer won’t be thrilled about Phyllis’ new IT position due to Adam’s shady side, but they’ll eventually support her.

However, Phyllis will be concerned about Adam’s allies on this merger since Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) and especially Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) could have a problem with her working there.

Summer will give Phyllis a pep talk since Nick has forgiven Phyllis for horrible things in the past. Phyllis will appreciate it when Summer predicts she’ll eventually become Nick’s friend again.

Of course, Phyllis will also have to worry about the possibility of landing in prison.

When Phyllis seems concerned about whether EMT Carson (Walter Belenky) will truly help her, Summer and Daniel will grow suspicious of what she’s hiding.

At the coffeehouse, Sharon will gush over Aria Porter-Copeland (Millie and Maddie Ingle) when Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) bring her for a visit.

Once Sharon talks about taking over Kirsten Incorporated, she’ll reveal that she’s partnered up with Adam and Nick on a merger.

Sharon will eventually ask if Mariah would ever consider leaving Jabot to come work with her mom.

Mariah will wonder what she’d be doing, so Sharon will throw out a couple of potential job titles like Director of Marketing or Vice President of Marketing. That said, Sharon will be open to whatever feels right.

Since the Abbotts are feuding and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) no longer works at Jabot, Mariah will consider moving on from the company.

Afterward, Tessa will help Mariah weigh her options, but she’ll think Mariah will ultimately have to trust her gut.

By the end of the conversation, it’ll seem like Mariah’s leaning toward taking Sharon up on the offer.

Back at Society on Monday’s Y&R episode, Sharon will join Nick right as he’s trying to convince Adam of the necessary Adustus name change.

Adam will seem skeptical about his ability to change and become this positive person they want him to be for this merger.

Nevertheless, Sharon and Nick will show some faith in Adam, so he’ll decide he’s ready to shed the negativity and give it a try.

Adam will also have to make a confession since he offered Phyllis the head of IT job without consulting Sharon and Nick first.

Once Nick gets updates, he’ll fly into a rage since he’s obviously got major issues with Phyllis right now.

Suddenly, Phyllis will get Adam on the phone and mention that she’s going to accept his job offer, but she’ll seek his help with something before they dive in.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Phyllis’ Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) takedown plot will take shape soon, so stick with Y&R.
