General Hospital Update: Monday, August 14 – Change of Plans, Port Charles Power Grab and Fire Motives Examined

General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Monday, August 14, indicates that Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) will want Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) to put any ideas of freedom out of his mind. Austin will have to keep following orders whether he likes it or not since he’s useful to Mason and their mysterious boss.

Meanwhile, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will hint about a change of plans, so this may create a situation where Betty Rutherford (Ella Lentini) takes the bait.

Instead of sending Betty to take Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) to day camp, Sonny may change the schedule unexpectedly.

Since Sonny’s counting on Betty to lead him to the truth about Mason and who he works for, he might have Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) tail her.

Regardless, Dex will indeed meet with Sonny on Monday’s GH episode to discuss his next mission.

As for Betty, she’ll feel like she’s making progress and will deliver some crucial updates to someone, so that might be Mason or another operative.

While Sonny moves forward with a trap and tries to gain the upper hand, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) will deliver some dreadful news to Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) about the fire at her home.

It seemed like someone wanted Anna gone for good when they presumably targeted her at the Metro Court pool.

However, the person who set the fire clearly waited until Anna was out of the house and kept her out of real danger.

That could perplex Anna a bit, but she’ll at least know someone wants her to suffer.

Valentin will think Anna needs more protection, but she’ll dismiss some of his suggestions and mostly plan to handle things on her own.

Other GH spoilers say Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) will explain her wild night to Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and defend her decision to reject Sonny’s help at the PCPD.

That said, Carly will know how important it is for the balance of power to be kept the same in Port Charles.

Sonny needs to keep showing his enemies who’s boss or else the safety of everyone he cares about could be in jeopardy – including his ex-wife and former stepdaughter.

Carly may also express concern for Avery during this talk with Joss since she can tell Ava Jerome (Maura West) is in over her head and letting Sonny come to her rescue.

At the Metro Court pool, Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) will admit to Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) that she’s trying to come to grips with losing her husband, so Dante will question if she’s really throwing in the towel.

Dante won’t think Olivia should surrender, so he’ll urge her to hold out hope for “Eddie Maine” to become the real Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) again.

When “Eddie” appears afterward, it seems he’ll be looking for Olivia. “Eddie” might want to apologize for hitting on Olivia’s friend since he was indeed flirting with Carly before the bar fight.

Olivia might also thank “Eddie” for throwing that punch for her when Mason refused to listen.

Although Ned isn’t coming back just yet, Olivia and “Eddie” could end up having a pleasant discussion anyway. Even that could feel like progress under the circumstances!

General Hospital spoilers say Ned’s memories have to flood back at some point, so stay tuned to see when that day will finally come.
