General Hospital Recap: Friday, August 18 – Valentin’s Late-Night Delivery – Carly Accepts Sonny’s Amazing Gift

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, August 18, reveals that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) was irritated over Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) late-night visit and assumed he wanted a favor, but he thought he could do one for her instead.

Carly immediately shut down the idea, but Sonny eventually convinced her to hear him out.

This was about getting Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) out of solitary confinement early, so Sonny said Carly could visit him once it was done.

Carly worried about this gift coming with stipulations, but Sonny assured her that there were no strings attached. After Carly gave Sonny the green light to help Drew, she expressed her gratitude.

At the Quartermaine mansion, “Eddie Maine” aka Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) found a hungover Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), who complained about Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) getting her drunk at the luau.

“Eddie” thought it sounded like fun, so Tracy snapped at him for avoiding the reality of being Ned. However, “Eddie” fired back about being onto Tracy since she wanted to have him committed.

After Tracy warned that she’d never stop fighting for her son, she insisted that Ned was still in there somewhere.

At Molly Lansing-Davis’ (Brooke Anne Smith) apartment, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) was upset over not being invited to the family gathering.

Molly revealed that she’d selected a surrogate with TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) and didn’t want this to turn into drama over why they went with her instead of Kristina.

Kristina pushed for answers since Molly brought it up and questioned why she’d pay a stranger to have a baby for her.

Molly argued that a legal agreement with someone else would work out better for everyone.

As the tension escalated, Molly ranted about Kristina running around town for her “pie in the sky” project and acted like Kristina would play up helping her poor infertile sister if they used her.

Kristina protested that the baby wouldn’t even be related to Molly, but she backtracked since she felt that came out wrong.

Molly insisted that if Kristina had a baby for her, it’d be a gift from her sister and that Kristina would never let anyone forget it.

Kristina guessed that she never realized how selfish and insecure Molly was before storming out.

At home, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) got a phone call that backed up his earlier conclusion that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) never truly went to ELQ the night Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) house burned down.

After Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) told Dante about the feud that was bubbling up between Molly and Kristina, he told her about the PCPD chaos with Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) and Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs).

Although Dante couldn’t go into the details of Anna’s house fire investigation, he admitted Valentin wasn’t being honest with Anna and couldn’t be trusted.

Once Valentin checked Anna in a Metro Court suite, he assured her that they’d catch the person responsible for burning down her house.

Valentin added that they’d stop the culprit from hurting Anna again and get through this together.

When Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) showed up, Valentin acted annoyed and stepped out in the hallway to get rid of him.

It quickly became obvious that Valentin had summoned Martin, who handed over a manila envelope and didn’t get why this couldn’t wait until morning.

Anna eavesdropped on the end of the conversation and caught Valentin in a lie since he acted like it was Martin’s idea to come so late.

Valentin wanted to take a shower and vowed to return in five minutes, so that gave Anna time to take a phone call from Dante.

Anna learned that Valentin’s car never made it to ELQ based on the surveillance footage – and there was no water main break like he claimed.

Anna also snooped in the manila envelope and saw that Valentin had received some information related to Pikeman.

When Valentin joined Anna in bed later, she called him out for lying to her. Valentin looked concerned, but Anna simply suggested that he took more like 15 minutes instead of five in the shower.

Next on Friday’s GH episode, Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) admitted he was diagnosed with ALS six months ago at the Mayo Clinic.

Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) was upset over not knowing the news sooner, but Gregory wanted things to be normal for as long as possible.

Now that Gregory had fallen around Violet Finn (Jophielle Love), he felt selfish for putting her at risk and felt he shouldn’t have agreed to watch her alone.

Gregory also beat himself up for continuing to drive, but Finn insisted no one was judging him for how he’d handled this so far.

Finn just hated that Gregory had been dealing with everything alone, so Gregory admitted Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) knew the truth.

After Finn vowed to be there for Gregory now, he agreed to help his father come clean to Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard).

As Finn broke down in tears and told his dad that he loved him, Gregory said he loved Finn too and pulled him into a hug.

General Hospital spoilers say Gregory’s got a tough road ahead of him, so stay tuned for updates on how Finn will come through for him.
