In tonight’s #AGT finale, it was Part Two of the Finale! All of the acts performed yesterday. The bonus performances tonight don’t even matter because America has already voted and now it was time to reveal those results. The show opened with the judges’ point of view. Simon enjoyed every act he saw yesterday. He said the whole two hours were a moment.
He said that even as he knew that his fellow judges wouldn’t agree with him. Howie was downright unpleasant yesterday. He was crapping on good acts. He was claiming that some of them hadn’t improved throughout their season on the show. The one act he could agree was amazing was Avantgardey. And thankfully they were up first tonight.
Avantgardey teamed up with all the acts to perform a second time tonight. They were fun. They were still weird. But that’s now a part of their charm. They were also Howie’s save from earlier on. He enjoyed their performance tonight. The whole audience did. They were amazing and they got the night off to a great start.
There to continue the trend was Lavender Darcangelo. She arrived on the stage next. She performed with Grammy and Emmily winner Diane Warren. Together they performed “Only Love Can Hurt Like This”. Lavender has more tangible talent than many others. Her voice was truly flawless.
Even the great Diane Warren said that Lavender has a great future in the music business. The next act was Anna DeGuzman. She performed with Jason Derulo. The magic ended up taking a backseat to the music only it was still good. Plus, people still remembered her incredible feat from yesterday.
The people didn’t mind watching Jason Derulo’s performance when they remembered that tidbit. Though sidenote Jason has an album coming out in October. Ahren Belisle followed that up with a funny take in which he used Simon’s voice pad. The one that Simon used when he lost his voice.
Ahren was quite funny as he mocked everyone using Simon’s voice. Then there was a performance from the upcoming Trolls movie. The group known as BroZone performed. They performed a NSYNC song together. They were fun and so was Jon Batiste when he performed with Mzansi Youth Choir. They were a tough act because no choir has ever won AGT. They could either be the first or they could come second to the other choir taking part in tonight’s finale. Either way, they still put on a great show.
Adrian Stoica and Hurricane were up next. They performed with celebrated chef, Cat Cora. A cat and a dog go well together this time. Cat ended up feeding Hurricane. Hurricane as always remains a delight for both his owner and the audience. Then along came Putri Ariani. She performed “Run” with Leona Lewis. They both have such amazing voices. They were great with each other and Putri has always been a serious threat with that piano of hers. Leona has won a similar competition herself. She gave Putri some great bit of advice. And everyone agreed with her that no one should listen to Simon.
It was also announced tonight that Sofia was stepping down as a judge. Mel Be will be taking her place next season. Mel B has previous judge experience and also a judge’s vengeance. She was known for splashing people with whatever is on the table in front of her. She even got Simon again during the promo for next season. Sofia will be missed, but she can always make a guest appearance next season. And its not like she can’t come back after her next project is over.
Next up were the Ramadhani Brothers. They performed with the group Thirty Seconds to Mars whose lead singer happened to be Jared Leto. There was also a performance from Season Seventeen winners, the Mayas! Tonight was full of great performances. It was naturally sad when acts began to get eliminated only it had to happen. Lavender was sadly eliminated first. Chibi Unity was eliminated second. Ahren Belisle was taken out in the third round. The 82nd Airborne Chorus was out in the fourth round. And there was only one spot left in the top five.
The final spot joining Ana, the Ramadhani Brothers, Adrian and Hurricane, and Putri in the top five acts of the season was Murmuration. But there can only be one winner! The winner of tonight wins a brand new electric car from Kia. They get to headline at Vegas. They also a win hefty amount of dollars that could set them up for life if they play it right. And then the eliminations kept coming.
The Ramadhani brothers came in fifth.
Putri Ariani came in fourth and the audience were so upset by that one that they booed.
Murmuration came in third.
It came down to two remaining acts. They were Ana DeGuzman and Adrian Stoica and his dog Hurricane. The votes were tallied. The audience was ready to boo if they didn’t like the answer. And the winner of Season Eighteen of “America’s Got Talent” proved to be Adrian and Hurricane.
All of America agreed that Hurricane was a lovable dog.
