General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, November 28, reveals that Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) compared notes with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) since Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) didn’t show up for his shift after having Thanksgiving off. No one had been able to get in touch with Austin, so other doctors had to handle his patients.
Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) spoke to Portia about signing off on a treatment plan for a patient, but he seemed frustrated over the hassle of it all. Elizabeth complained to Portia, who reminded Liz that she wasn’t the enemy and was just following protocol due to the malpractice suit.
Later, Liz gave Finn a pep talk in his office before Dede Clark (Shelley Robertson) showed up to act as GH’s attorney.
Dede spoke with Finn alone and apologized if the questions were too invasive, but she needed to gather as much information as possible so there were no surprises in court.
Finn answered some of Dede’s questions, but he eventually decided to shut things down as the questions became more centered on his possible guilt. That’s when Finn decided his attorney should probably be present if Dede wanted more info.
Back with Liz, she agreed to go check Austin’s apartment and came back with disturbing news.
There was a food delivery outside Austin’s door from Thanksgiving Day – and after the super let Liz in, she determined that it didn’t look like anyone had been there since before Thanksgiving.
Portia got updates on all this and was alarmed, so Liz asked if she was going to call the police.
Next, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) spoke to Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) about Mason Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) and how he didn’t want him to get off easy.
Dante pointed out that someone else gave Mason orders, so Sonny admitted he believed it was Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) and explained why.
When Dante called the number on Austin’s business card, Detective Briscoe (Patrick Smith) with the Pautuck PD answered and confirmed that Austin was deceased.
After Dante told Sonny about Austin’s grim fate, he hinted that his father could’ve arranged it. Sonny urged Dante to give him more credit than that since he wouldn’t have left the body behind and come to talk to Dante about the case.
Sonny also made it clear that he suspected Cyrus was behind what happened to Austin before Dante took off.
Meanwhile, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) brought Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante) to the Metro Court so she could interview Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) about his job for a school project.
Once the interview was over, Drew had some big news for Scout since he’d pulled strings to get her into Westwood Academy. Sam pointed out that they’d never discussed Scout going to private school, but Drew went on and on about how wonderful it was.
Scout seemed uncomfortable as she asked if her daddy wanted her to go there. Since it seemed like Drew did, Scout said OK – clearly just to make him happy.
Drew called his friend on the board to give him the green light, but Scout got honest with Sam in private and admitted she didn’t want to go to that school.
At the hospital, Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) worked out some time in her schedule and admitted to TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) that she’d made an appointment to find a new surrogate.
TJ was upset over Molly doing that without asking him since he got emotionally invested and wasn’t ready to make that investment again right now.
Afterward, TJ told Portia that he was fine with staying late to cover for Austin since he needed the distraction.
When Molly crossed paths with Dr. Sofia Navarro (Kristina Ferraro), she got a bit of a pep talk. Dr. Navarro knew that miscarriages were common, but there were plenty of people in the world who were living proof that surrogacy could work.
Once Dr. Navarro wished Molly the best on whatever path she chose with TJ, Molly made a call to Claire Brown (Lyn Alicia Henderson) and wanted to meet with this surrogacy matching professional.
At the Port Charles Grill, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) admitted she wanted to see Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and check in about Esme Prince (Avery Pohl). Alexis insisted that Esme was doing a great job and that she even gave Esme a raise since she deserved it.
Talk turned to concerns about Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) reaction to Esme moving out with Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay), but Alexis and Laura thought Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) was helping in that department.
The conversation eventually shifted to Laura’s gratitude since Alexis kept Charlotte Cassadine’s (Scarlett Fernandez) and Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) names out of the article at The Invader.
Alexis pointed out that Charlotte was a minor and would be protected anyway. As for Anna, Alexis acted like she deserved some privacy since she’d already been through so much media scrutiny.
That said, Anna suggested that if the situation were different, she would’ve used this opportunity to run an op-ed about gun control.
Cyrus eavesdropped on Alexis and Laura’s conversation nearby before dropping a tray of glasses, which the maître d’ ripped into him for. The commotion also got Laura and Alexis’ attention, so Cyrus became a topic of conversation.
Alexis quizzed Laura on whether she thought Cyrus could truly be reformed, so Laura suggested he deserved a second chance until he proved he was still a threat. As Laura and Alexis left the restaurant, Cyrus watched them go.
Back with Sonny, he got in his vehicle and called someone to say he was on his way to the Metro Court. Sonny summoned the person to meet him there since there was something they needed to know.
At the police station, Detective Briscoe from the Pautuck PD was waiting for Dante in the interrogation room, where he requested interdepartmental cooperation to investigate the murder of Austin Gatlin-Holt.
