The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Thursday, December 7, reveals that there were concerns about whether Bridget Forrester (Ashley Jones) and Thorne Forrester (Winsor Harmon) would be able to hold it together as Eric Forrester (John McCook) shared a special moment with them both.
Eric struggled to hold his glass due to tremors, but Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) tried to help him conceal his worsening condition.
There was talk about Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) and how Eric would see her again in due time. Eric also spoke to Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) about how much she reminded him of her namesake.
Next on Thursday’s B&B episode, Eric let Katie Logan (Heather Tom) and Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) know that they were family to him.
Over with Hope Logan (Annika Noelle), she comforted Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) and suggested that she had his back during all this.
As Eric approached Hope and Thomas, he said seeing the two of them together wasn’t a scandal to him.
Eric thought it was terrific, so he urged Thomas and Hope to embrace happiness if they’d indeed found it with each other. Life was too short, so Eric felt that Hope and Thomas should go for it.
RJ Forrester (Joshua Hoffman) and Luna Nozama (Lisa Yamada) also got some kind words from Eric as he tried to acknowledge each party guest.
Back with Bridget, she had someone she wanted to call for another opinion about Eric’s illness. It was hard for Bridget to pretend when she really wanted to focus on using her medical knowledge to help Eric.
After Eric had to sit down, he acted like he was simply getting a little older than he used to be. Steffy said she was so sorry, but she covered when Eric wondered what she was sorry for.
After Steffy apologized for John “Finn” Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan) absence, Eric assumed there was some emergency at the hospital and told his granddaughter that she’d married a remarkable man.
Donna eventually asked if Eric was ready to call it a night, but he insisted this party was just getting started and hoped to dance with her. Eric said he wanted to have Donna in his arms one last time.
At the hospital, Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) found Finn working late in his office and questioned why he wasn’t at the Forrester mansion for the gala.
Finn had some research to finish up, but Li thought he should make Steffy a priority considering everything that happened in recent months.
However, Finn dropped a hint about how this was more important than Li knew, so she wondered if he was keeping something from her.
Steffy texted and later called Finn to see where he was. Finn said he was finishing up some important work and that he’d be there when he could, but Steffy was clearly upset over the delay.
After Eric danced with Donna, he stumbled and tried to blame it on the Champagne. Eric told everyone that this party was exactly what he needed and felt it was a dream come true seeing all their beautiful faces there.
Once Eric thanked everyone for giving him this wonderful, unforgettable evening, he kissed Donna and touched foreheads with her. All the partygoers looked like they were struggling to conceal their sadness.
